Promote tourism: Expand and develop the tourist market

- In recent years, all levels and sectors in Lang Son province have promoted many tourism promotion activities to expand the market and introduce the unique potentials of the province to domestic and foreign tourists.

In the first 3 months of 2025, the number of tourists to Lang Son increased sharply with nearly 2 million arrivals (an increase of over 40% over the same period in 2024), this is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of tourism promotion in the province.

From a variety of promotional activities, promoting domestic tourism

Recently, short videos and impressive images of festivals, majestic natural landscapes and unique cuisine of Lang Son have attracted the attention of many tourists. Ms. Le Thu Ha, a tourist from Hanoi, said: Before, I never thought of traveling to Lang Son. But near Tet, I saw on TikTok and Facebook many videos and images of festivals in Lang Son that were very unique, the atmosphere was joyful and bustling, so after finding out the information, I decided to come to Lang Son to explore the Ky Cung - Ta Phu festival in 2025.

In recent times, Lang Son's tourism promotion activities have achieved important results. Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (CTPT&DL), said: In order to attract tourists, the center has coordinated with relevant departments, branches and units to strengthen communication activities, tourism promotion, as well as organize market stimulus events, seminars to introduce destinations; at the same time, participate in tourism fairs to connect businesses, flexibly combining direct and online forms.

Content creators on social media platforms (KOLs, KOCs) are invited by the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion to experience and promote Lang Son cuisine.

In addition, promotion and advertising activities focus on creating video clips, tourism publications, news articles, reports, short films, live streaming of tourism programs on the internet, inviting content creators (KOLs, KOCs) to experience and promote cuisine, tourist destinations... posted on media channels and social networks. The application of modern technology, building a unique, impressive and rich tourism image of Lang Son is regularly deployed and maintained.

Notably, from 2024 to present, the Center for Trade Promotion and Tourism has published 1,000 new tourism promotion publications on "Lang Son tourism guide - attractive destination"; posted promotional articles about Lang Son Geopark in Hegitage magazine (heritage magazine) serving tourists on Vietnam Airlines flights; posted over 100 propaganda articles and entries for the contest "Beautiful moments with ethnic costumes of Lang Son province in 2024".

From 2024 to present, on average each year the provincial cultural sector organizes more than 280 large and small festivals in the whole province; organizes and participates in more than 30 cultural, tourism events, fairs, investment promotion conferences... tourism promotion activities in the province with diverse scales and forms are strongly invested.

Ms. Pham Thi Thuan, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Lang Son city said: "Cultural and tourism events are opportunities to introduce local characteristics to tourists. Therefore, in recent times, we have always focused on innovating the form of organizing events to create unique and unforgettable experiences for tourists when coming to the city. In addition, we also regularly coordinate with related units to develop diverse tourism products. In particular, at the end of 2024, we coordinated with the Provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Tourism to launch the product "Lang Son culinary tourism" with 6 new culinary tours, thereby contributing to attracting tourists to the city.

In parallel with the propaganda, promotion and organization of tourism events in the province, the tourism industry has actively carried out the promotion and promotion of tourism at events outside the province. Specifically, from 2024 to present, the Center for Promotion of Trade and Tourism has participated in more than 20 tourism events and fairs outside the province such as: Hanoi International Tourism Fair 2024; supporting businesses in the province to participate in displaying and promoting specialties and tourism products at the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2024... The Center also linked the website with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and provinces and cities across the country such as: Ninh Binh, Ha Giang, Bac Giang, Ho Chi Minh City... integrating the promotion of Lang Son tourism image and Lang Son Geopark at the province's tourism promotion booth at events.

Most recently, at the end of March 2025, in Hue city, the Provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Tourism organized a conference to promote Lang Son tourism destinations in 2025 with the theme "Who goes to Lang with me..." on the occasion of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025. At the event, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, assessed: This is a special occasion to develop products, stimulate demand, promote Lang Son tourism destinations, further strengthen destination promotion, and effectively coordinate the implementation of cooperation programs to develop tourism in Lang Son, Hue and the Central provinces. Right at the event, the Lang Son Provincial Tourism Association and the Hue City Tourism Association signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, linking to build and exploit package tourism programs between travel agencies in Lang Son province and Hue city. Thereby, contributing significantly to expanding the market, attracting domestic tourists to Lang Son.

...To expand the market, promote international tourism

Not only developing the domestic tourism market, the provincial tourism industry has focused on expanding tourism promotion to attract tourists through many international events in Europe, Asia, etc. Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Tourism, said: Promoting tourism promotion is an important factor to attract tourists to Lang Son. Therefore, in recent times, we have promoted the promotion of the province's tourism products, especially the potentials and strengths of the Lang Son Geopark through tourism promotion events in international markets such as: participating in international conferences and seminars in China, ASEAN countries; In particular, in 2025, we will continue to promote tourism in the Indian and Korean markets.

Accordingly, from the end of 2024 to present, relevant agencies and units have carried out many effective cooperation activities, including the cooperation between Lang Son and some localities of China being promoted. Typically, in early 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province welcomed and met with the Department of Culture, Tourism, Sports and Television of Chongzuo City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. In the working program, the two sides agreed to implement a number of contents on promoting cooperation in developing culture, sports and tourism.

Notably, at the end of March 2025, the delegation of the Provincial Center for Trade and Tourism Promotion had a working trip to Hanoi with the Australian Business Association in Vietnam, members of the National Cave Society of the United States (NSS), the French National Cave Association and Viet Nam Expeditions Company. This tourism promotion activity is of great significance in promoting the image of Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark to international friends, while promoting cooperation in tourism development, especially cave exploration tourism and adventure tourism in Lang Son UNESCO Global Geopark.

It can be seen that promoting and promoting tourism not only helps attract tourists but also contributes to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.
