Promote propaganda, spread positive information, limit negative information on cyberspace

On May 4, the Department of Information and Communications issued Official Dispatch No. 560/STTT-TTBCXB on promoting propaganda, spreading positive information, and limiting negative information on cyberspace.

The content of the dispatch is as follows: In recent times, general electronic information sites and social networks have been active, contributing to the timely transmission of information on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and on the domestic and foreign political , economic and social situation to the Internet user community.

However, besides the positive aspects, there is still a lot of negative information on the Internet that affects the community. Some general electronic information sites and social networks are running after sensationalism and increasing traffic, so they focus on synthesizing, sharing, and spreading news and articles with negative content, information about the negative side of society, offensive information that violates Vietnamese customs and traditions..., which has a significant impact on public opinion.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 664/PTTT&TTDT dated March 29, 2024 of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information - Ministry of Information and Communications on promoting propaganda, spreading positive information, limiting negative information on cyberspace, the Department of Information and Communications requests provincial departments, branches, sectors, unions; People's Committees of districts, towns, cities; provincial press agencies to pay attention to implementing the following contents:

1. Post and share positive information on the general electronic information page and social networks established, managed and operated by the agency or unit. Actively communicate and propagate policies and important events of the Party and State, cultural and social events; good deeds, typical examples that inspire society and the community... Monitor, grasp and seriously implement the instructions and orientations of information content shared by the management agency through the online connection network of general electronic information pages and social networks. Proactively balance the proportion of information posted and shared on the general electronic information page and social networks, ensuring that positive information is dominant, negative information, information about the negative side of society does not account for a large proportion (less than 15%) of the news and articles posted and shared.

2. Regularly review and monitor the provision, posting and sharing of information on the general electronic information page and social networks established, managed and operated by the agency or unit to ensure strict implementation of legal regulations; strictly control information, limit users from using functions (tagging others, commenting) to share and spread negative information that affects the security, order, economy and society in the province.
