In order to strengthen the leadership of Party committees and organizations at all levels, promote the pioneering and supervisory role in protecting consumer rights, the Provincial People's Committee has proactively strengthened propaganda and dissemination of information on consumer rights protection; created a healthy and open business environment for organizations and traders participating in production and trading of goods in the area, linking the responsibility of enterprises in enforcing the law on protecting consumer rights with improving the competitiveness of enterprises and national competition.
Every year, the Provincial People's Committee issues a Plan to implement activities in response to Consumer Rights Day (March 15). On that basis, districts and cities proactively implement activities in response to Vietnamese Consumer Rights Day such as hanging banners and slogans; propaganda on radio and television; mobile vehicles; posting news, articles, and photos on media...; implementing activities in response to "Vietnam National Brand Day April 20"; actively responding to and participating in the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", calling on consumers to prioritize using domestically produced goods, choosing to consume goods that ensure food hygiene and safety produced in localities in the province, contributing to stimulating consumption, improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, promoting production and socio-economic development of the locality.
The Provincial Association for Standards and Consumer Protection has implemented activities to contribute to protecting consumer rights such as advising on introducing and nominating a number of typical local units with prestigious, quality and safe products to serve consumers nationwide; propagating and mobilizing businesses to build a code of conduct in business, thereby contributing to stimulating consumer demand and attracting a large number of consumers in the province to be interested in the products of businesses.
Local businesses basically strictly comply with their obligations to consumers, considering this a competitive advantage and development of the business. Some distribution businesses in the province have coordinated with manufacturers (with strong branded products) to organize programs to identify genuine and fake goods for consumers.
In addition, every year, many manufacturing and trading enterprises in the province have actively organized many special promotional programs during holidays, Tet, "National Concentrated Promotion Month - Grand sale" to show gratitude to consumers such as supporting product warranty and maintenance, consulting on safe and economical use of consumer products, giving gifts, product discounts, lucky draws...
However, the coordination between state management agencies, social organizations and enterprises in protecting consumer rights is still lacking in synchronization, leading to low efficiency; the provision of information and support for detection and handling of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods and goods violating intellectual property rights is still limited and faces many difficulties.
The members of the Provincial Association for Standards and Consumer Protection are mostly civil servants of provincial departments, branches, sectors and unions who frequently change their positions, work part-time, are busy with professional work, and have limited experience in association activities; information, propaganda and consumer guidance activities are not really rich and extensive to the majority of people; the Association's activities are still heavily dependent on State management agencies, and have not yet organized activities of a specific nature of the Association to attract the attention, participation and cooperation of the majority of people.
The strong development of e-commerce has led to violations of intellectual property and counterfeit goods, but the detection and handling of violations in this field in the province is currently facing many difficulties because e-commerce platforms do not have effective solutions and are still confused in protecting the rights of legitimate businesses as well as consumers.
In order to promote socialization and enhance the responsibility of organizations, individuals and enterprises in protecting consumer rights in the province in the coming time, the province continues to encourage and support social organizations to participate in protecting consumer rights, especially in consulting, supporting and resolving complaints; encourage and motivate enterprises to fulfill their social responsibilities well, build brands associated with the reputation and quality of products and services...
