Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Head of the Steering Committee for the capacity release projects of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plants of the Corporation, has just chaired a meeting to review the progress of the transmission project cluster to release the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants.
These are key projects, playing an important role in releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants, strengthening grid connectivity, transmitting capacity to serve the socio -economic development of the southern provinces, including Dong Nai province. When the projects come into operation, they will contribute to ensuring energy security and increasing local budget revenue.
Attending the meeting were leaders of the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB), the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB), Power Transmission Company 4, and leaders of EVNNPT's professional departments.
The project is still stuck on compensation and site clearance.
Reporting at the meeting, the representative of NPTPMB, the unit assigned to manage the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - My Xuan - Cat Lai branch line project, said: The project passes through Phuoc Khanh and Vinh Thanh communes, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025. Up to now, the units are implementing the foundation construction and pole erection, but there are still problems due to the lack of land prices and compensation plans.
A representative of SPMB - the unit assigned to implement 4 projects in this area, said that the 500kV Nhon Trach 4 - Phu My - Nha Be transmission line project was completed and energized at the end of 2024.

For the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - 500kV Long Thanh Substation project, passing through Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts. The project includes 87 foundation locations, of which 49 locations are in the newly constructed power line section, 38 locations are located on the centerline of the existing power line. Up to now, the project has completed the foundation of 44/87 locations, is casting 2 locations, erected 11 pillars, and is erecting 7 locations.
Although striving to complete in the fourth quarter of 2025, the project is still stuck because there is no specific land price and no Decision approving the compensation plan to pay the households. The work of verifying the origin of the land has not been completed. The project strives to complete in the fourth quarter of 2025.
For the 220kV transmission line project of Long Thanh 500kV substation - High-tech park, there is a scale of constructing a new overhead line and a 220kV underground cable line in the High-tech park. The project runs in Long Thanh district, Bien Hoa city - Dong Nai province and Thu Duc city - Ho Chi Minh city. The project is implementing procedures to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed and energized in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The 220kV Nhon Trach Industrial Park Transformer Station (TSB) project and connection strive to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a scale of 2 transformers 220/110kV - 250MVA, 7 compartments 220kV, 10 compartments 110kV, self-consumption from the local grid and self-consumption from the 220kV transformer. Construction site Phu Hoi commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province. This project is under construction, however, there is no Decision on compensation plan (land price is available) to pay for households.

Receive the site and start construction immediately
After listening to SPMB and NPTPMB present reports on the implementation of the projects, Mr. Bui Van Kien, Deputy General Director of EVNNPT, Head of the Project Cluster Steering Committee expressed his thanks to the local authorities of Dong Nai province, Nhon Trach and Long Thanh districts, and departments and branches in the past time for providing maximum support for the units to speed up the construction of the projects.
EVNNPT Deputy General Director acknowledged and commended SPMB and NPTPMB for their great efforts and proactively proposing many solutions to achieve certain achievements for this project cluster. In particular, the units have many breakthrough solutions to ensure connection to serve the experimental power generation of the plants.
EVNNPT Deputy General Director Bui Van Kien also acknowledged the spirit of working "through holidays and days off" and "overcoming the sun and rain" to overcome all difficulties at the construction site to speed up the construction progress and gradually bring the project to the finish line.
The legal procedure-related problems are gradually being solved. Therefore, EVNNPT leaders requested SPMB and NPTPMB to continue to proactively follow and closely coordinate with Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, departments and local authorities of Nhon Trach district in resolving difficulties related to project sites, in order to promptly hand over the sites to contractors and organize construction as soon as the sites are received, ensuring technical requirements and construction quality, meeting the commercial operation schedule of Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants.
Every week, the units report to EVNNPT on the implementation status of the project clusters. If any difficulties or problems arise during the implementation process, they must be reported immediately so that the Steering Committee can promptly resolve them.
In which, SPMB directed the contractor to concentrate all forces to erect poles and pull wires to ensure the completion of assigned projects on schedule. For NPTPMB, it is necessary to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities in site clearance work to ensure the progress of energizing the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - My Xuan - Cat Lai branch line project in June 2025.
EVNNPT's functional departments, according to their assigned tasks, proactively advise EVNNPT's leaders on project management tasks during the construction process to ensure the progress of releasing capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants meets requirements.
The completion of the 220kV and 500kV transmission lines connecting Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants to the national power system will contribute to increasing the total power source capacity by more than 1,600MW to serve the country's socio-economic development and people's lives.
With that importance, most recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Official Dispatch No. 49/CD-TTg dated April 23, 2025 on the drastic, synchronous and effective implementation of solutions to ensure electricity supply during peak times in 2025 and the coming time.
In particular, units are required to focus on directing and accelerating the implementation of important national projects and key energy sector projects included in the planning, promptly putting Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into operation in June 2025, and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant into operation in August 2025.
