On May 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province coordinated with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Historical Science Association to organize a scientific conference "Activities of comrades Ha Huy Tap and Ngo Duc Dien in their homeland Khanh Hoa in the early 20th century" with the participation of scientists and delegates nationwide.
From a patriotic teacher
Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Ha Minh Hong - former head of the history department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City - presented about the period of activities of General Secretary Ha Huy Tap in Nha Trang 100 years ago.
According to Mr. Hong, in the years 1925 - 1926, teacher Ha Huy Tap taught at the French - Vietnamese school Nha Trang (now Nguyen Van Troi High School, Nha Trang City) and teacher Ngo Duc Dien - one of the founders of the Phuc Viet Association (teaching at the French - Vietnamese school Ninh Hoa, Ninh Hoa town today) brought the patriotic stance according to the viewpoint of Marxism - Leninism to mobilize in schools and among officials.
At that time in Khanh Hoa, even in Nha Trang town, there was no high school but only an elementary school.
In addition to teaching students, Mr. Tap and Mr. Dien also organized night classes.
Here, the teachers talked about human rights, told the history of our country, extolled heroic martyrs, and praised the Lac Hong race. Through this, many people understood that their country was lost and why their people were poor and ignorant.
In 1927, the two men started to build the Tan Viet Party base in two localities in the province: Nha Trang town and Tan Dinh district (present-day Ninh Hoa).

After that, the two men propagated and enlightened many young people, civil servants, teachers, and students to participate in the cause of national salvation.
On April 4, 1926, at Phan Chu Trinh's memorial service organized by a number of patriotic intellectuals in Nha Trang, Ha Huy Tap read a speech encouraging the people's patriotic spirit.
After that event, he was transferred by the French government to teach in Vinh (Nghe An).
However, revolutionary activities continued to develop strongly in Nha Trang town and in the districts of Ninh Hoa, Van Ninh, Vinh Xuong, and Dien Khanh.
Laying the foundation for the establishment of Khanh Hoa Party Committee
In her speech sent to the conference, MSc. Tran Thi Thuy - Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee - said that with their steadfast revolutionary spirit, sharp organizational thinking and dedication to their ideals, Mr. Ha Huy Tap and Mr. Ngo Duc Dien have greatly contributed to building a force to spread patriotic ideology, Marxism - Leninism and the process of mobilizing the establishment of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.
According to Ms. Thuy, the practical activities of the late General Secretary Ha Huy Tap led to the formation of the first revolutionary bases in the locality.
Although his time working in Khanh Hoa was not long, he laid the basic foundation for building the organization and party members, leading to the establishment of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.
"The contributions of comrades Ha Huy Tap and Ngo Duc Dien to the establishment of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee are a great source of inspiration for future generations, reminding us of the importance of building a strong Party, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today," Ms. Thuy stated.
Proposal to name a street and build a memorial house for Ha Huy Tap
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa - permanent vice president of the Khanh Hoa Province Historical Science Association - the life and career of the late General Secretary Ha Huy Tap or Mr. Ngo Duc Dien during his time working in the locality are all legacies for educating patriotic traditions.
Therefore, Ms. Hoa proposed that there should be a memorial house to commemorate and educate the younger generation about the contributions of our ancestors in building Khanh Hoa province during the revolutionary period.
In addition, there should be forms of gratitude such as placing on Ha Huy Tap and Ngo Duc Dien streets locally.
