Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province has proposed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City agree that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is the competent authority to implement the Phu My 2 Bridge Project. At the same time, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province is agreed that it is the competent authority to implement the projects to build Cat Lai Bridge and Long Hung Bridge.
Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee also requested Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to report to Ho Chi Minh City People's Council according to the provisions of Clause 5, Article 7, Decree No. 243/2025/ND-CP dated September 11, 2025 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Investment under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) method to implement the projects. During the implementation process, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee will direct specialized agencies to promptly coordinate with specialized agencies of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to ensure the implementation progress between the two localities.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai also agreed on the need to invest in projects to connect traffic between the two localities. In particular, the Cat Lai Bridge Project and the road at both ends of the bridge were agreed to invest with the scale of the main urban road, design speed of 80 km/h, cross-section scale of 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles. The project has a starting point on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street (about 400m from My Thuy intersection), in Cat Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City; the end point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, in Dai Phuoc Commune, Dong Nai Province. The project has a total route length of more than 11.6km, of which Cat Lai Bridge is more than 3km long.
The Long Hung Bridge project and the road at both ends of the bridge were agreed to invest with the scale of an urban main road, design speed of 80km/h; cross-section of 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles. The project has a total route length of nearly 12km, of which the Long Hung Bridge length is more than 2.3km.
Meanwhile, the Phu My 2 Bridge Project and the two-way road at both ends of the bridge are being studied for investment with the scale of an urban main road, a design speed of 80km/h; a cross-section of 6 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motorized vehicles. The project has a total route length of nearly 15km, of which the Phu My 2 Bridge section is more than 4.6km long.
