Expectations of infrastructure connecting people's lives and businesses
Dong Nai province has long been identified as a strategic locality of the country. Located next to Ho Chi Minh City, bordering many provinces in the Southeast, Central Highlands, Mekong Delta and having over 258.9km of border, Dong Nai not only plays a key role in national defense and security but is also a gateway to expand cross-border trade. Hoa Lu border gate economic zone is expected to be an important transit point, connecting domestic and international trade.
Over the past years, Dong Nai 's transport infrastructure has been gradually invested, forming a transport system including roads, waterways, maritime and aviation. In particular, a series of important roads have been put into use such as: Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, Nhon Trach bridge, Bach Dang 2 bridge... Along with that, traffic works are being built such as: Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 Project of Ho Chi Minh City...
According to the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province, these projects will create an inter-regional connection network, shortening the time for transporting goods and reducing logistics costs for businesses. When completed, these routes will not only solve the problem of congestion but also promote trade between Dong Nai and the Central Highlands, South Central Coast, Mekong Delta and Cai Mep - Thi Vai seaport.
Mr. Nguyen Chinh Tan (Party member of Nhon Trach commune) commented: The expectations of the people and the business community lie not only in growth figures, but also in direct changes in daily life. A synchronous transportation system will help people travel more conveniently and safely, reduce traffic jams, and save time. Workers in industrial zones can travel with peace of mind. Agricultural products are easily consumed. Trade and tourism services are developing strongly. For businesses, reduced transportation costs mean increased competitiveness, attracting foreign investment, creating more jobs and development opportunities.
However, Dong Nai is still facing many infrastructure bottlenecks. The expressways connecting from the North to Ho Chi Minh City through Dong Nai are not really smooth. The route from the Southwest through Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai is often congested, affecting freight transport. In addition, intra-provincial traffic, especially in urban areas, rural areas, mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas, still lacks synchronization.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Sam (Party member of Tan Trieu ward) said: The great expectation of the people is that the province will focus on investing in building a synchronous and modern infrastructure system. In particular, developing inland waterway transport to take advantage of the strengths of Dong Nai river, La Nga river, Thi Vai river is an important solution, reducing the burden on roads. Developing public transport associated with urban planning, connecting industrial parks and residential areas to form a large-volume transport network, both reducing traffic jams and protecting the environment. At the same time, prioritizing the development of the transport system in remote and isolated areas so that all people can benefit from the results of development, leaving no one behind.
Identifying transportation as one of the four breakthrough areas in the 2020-2025 period, Dong Nai province focuses on investing in expressways, beltways, provincial roads along with the Long Thanh International Airport Project to complete infrastructure. By the end of 2025, Long Thanh Airport will be basically completed and put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026. At that time, Dong Nai will have all five modes of transportation (road, rail, air, sea and inland waterway) connected synchronously and modernly.
Comrade VO TAN DUC, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province
Taking people's wishes as the "compass"
Faced with new development requirements, the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Nai have demonstrated high political determination in building modern transport infrastructure. The consistent orientation is to develop transport in association with urban, industrial and service planning; ensuring harmony between economic growth and improving the quality of life.
This determination is first and foremost reflected in planning, in which transport infrastructure is placed at the center. Key projects such as belt roads, highways, urban railways, dry ports and airports have all been included in the plan, with close coordination between central ministries and branches. This is the foundation for Dong Nai to not only resolve current problems but also proactively anticipate long-term development trends.
The highlight of the implementation process is the promotion of the role of the people and businesses. The motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit" is thoroughly implemented. Key traffic projects not only serve economic goals but also meet the legitimate aspirations of the people, taking people's happiness and satisfaction as a measure.
The government, departments, and agencies continue to put people and businesses at the center of all decisions, considering social consensus as the key to ensuring success. Every decision must be subject to supervision and accountability to the people. Each highway, bridge, or airport is not only an infrastructure project but also a symbol of the consensus of the entire political system.

Mr. Dao Minh Tam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach Commune, Dong Nai Province, said: The process of infrastructure construction is also closely linked to the goal of inclusive development. Transport investment will go hand in hand with environmental protection, cultural identity preservation and social security assurance. Routes connecting to residential areas and industrial zones are prioritized to improve living standards and narrow the development gap. This is a clear demonstration of the humane and fair spirit in all local policies.
The determination of the Party, government and people of the province does not stop at orientation, but is also concretized by practical actions: speeding up the progress of site clearance, mobilizing diverse resources, and closely coordinating between the Central and local levels. This is the driving force that turns determination into reality, helping Dong Nai quickly remove infrastructure "bottlenecks" and rise strongly.
Belief - determination - action are the core factors that help Dong Nai overcome challenges and realize the goal of building a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure system. This is not only the aspiration of the Party and the government but also the desire of about 4.5 million Dong Nai people - those who directly benefit from the results of development.
