Department of Population - Ministry of Health organized a workshop in Khanh Hoa

On October 28, in Khanh Hoa, the Department of Population - Ministry of Health organized a workshop to contribute comments on the draft report on the 5-year summary of the implementation of the Program to strengthen, develop and improve the quality of family planning services until 2030. Attending the workshop were more than 60 delegates representing the population departments of 16 provinces and cities in the Central region, the Central Highlands and some northern provinces.

At the workshop, delegates updated the 5-year summary report on the above content and Decision 1848 of the Prime Minister on approving the program to strengthen, develop and improve the quality of family planning services until 2030. According to the assessment, after 5 years of implementing the program, all levels and sectors have paid attention to leading, directing and organizing synchronous and serious implementation; the service provision network has been gradually consolidated; communication work and behavior change mobilization have many innovations in form and methods...

By 2025, the whole country will have 50% of women of childbearing age using modern contraceptive methods; 75% of facilities providing family planning services will meet quality standards according to regulations; over 95% of communes will continue to provide non-clinical contraceptive methods through collaborators; 75% of health stations in high birth rate areas will be capable of providing contraceptive methods according to regulations; over 95% of communes will regularly organize propaganda to people about the consequences of abortion and promote the use of safe contraceptive methods...

In Khanh Hoa , up to now, over 95% of women of childbearing age have access to modern contraceptive methods; the rate of women of childbearing age using modern contraceptive methods has reached over 70%; the number of adolescents and young people with unwanted pregnancies has been reduced by 2/3; over 75% of facilities providing family planning services meet quality standards according to regulations...

At the workshop, delegates focused on giving opinions on a number of tasks and solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of program implementation; communication work to ensure reproductive health, contributing to stable development and maintaining replacement fertility levels nationwide; policies to support priority groups such as poor and near-poor households, ethnic minorities, people living in remote, isolated and especially disadvantaged areas...
