(QBĐT) - In recent times, the employment loan program has helped many households have the opportunity to invest and expand their production and business models. From these models, people have a stable source of income and strive to become rich legitimately in their homeland.
With the desire to improve the family's economy , in 2020, Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, Phu Hoa commune (Quang Trach) and her husband learned about shrimp farming models in the commune. Ms. Hoa said that at that time, she and her husband were working in the construction materials business, however, the work was not favorable so they wanted to change jobs. Seeing many households in the commune raising shrimp, the couple also wanted to learn and try their hand.
Visiting and learning, the couple found that most households raised shrimp using traditional models, which posed high risks and caused shrimp to be susceptible to disease. Through the internet and newspapers, the couple considered a high-tech shrimp farming model because this model not only limited shrimp diseases but also brought productivity and economic efficiency. However, to build this model, a large amount of capital was needed, while the couple's capital was too little.

Introduced by the Phu Hoa Commune Women's Union to a loan package from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), Ms. Hoa boldly borrowed an additional VND100 million from the VBSP loan package. With additional capital borrowed from relatives, she and her husband started investing in building 6 high-tech farming ponds, each pond having an area of 200-250m2 .
“Raising shrimp is easy but also very difficult. If the farming and care process is not ensured, the shrimp are very susceptible to disease. Therefore, my family always strictly adheres to three factors: the shrimp must be disease-free, the pond bottom and the water source leading to the pond must be clean,” Ms. Tran Thi Hoa shared. Currently, her family is still maintaining 6 alternating ponds. Thanks to strictly implementing the farming process, all shrimp crops have high productivity. On average, each year after deducting costs, the high-tech shrimp farming model has brought her family a profit of over 100 million VND.
Thanks to preferential loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Ms. Le Thi Tam's family in My Thuy commune (Le Thuy) has built the Tung Tam rice cake brand.
Ms. Tam said that in the past, her family's economy depended on a few fields of rice, so it was quite difficult. To have more income to cover living expenses and send her children to school, during the off-season, her family made banh bot loc to sell. The quality was guaranteed and delicious, so gradually, her family's cakes became known to many people. With the support of the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office to lend 100 million VND from the GQVL loan package, she invested in buying a dough kneading machine and a meat cutting machine to serve the purpose of making cakes.
The GQVL loan program has been effective in not only creating stable jobs but also bringing high economic efficiency to the people. Currently, the whole province has 16,062 customers receiving GQVL loans, with outstanding loans reaching 832.7 billion VND. |
“Thanks to the support of machines, the cakes are made faster, the quality of the cakes also ensures food safety and hygiene, so they are favored by many people. The cakes are not only consumed in the commune and district but also in provinces and cities across the country. In 2023, the banh loc production facility brought in a profit of more than 150 million VND. Recently, with the support and encouragement of the local government, Tung Tam banh loc has registered a trademark, striving to build products that meet local OCOP standards,” said Ms. Le Thi Tam.
Not only does it bring income to her family, her banh loc production facility is also providing jobs for 5 local workers, with an income of 4-5 million VND/person/month.
Director of the Social Policy Bank - Quang Binh Branch, Tran Van Tai, said: Identifying the GQVL loan program as one of the important channels to support people in economic development, through socio-political organizations, the Social Policy Bank has focused on disbursing and creating conditions for people to access loan packages quickly and promptly. Thanks to that, it has effectively supported borrowers to maintain and develop multiple industries and create more jobs for local workers. In order for the GQVL loan source to be effective, aiming to open up many job opportunities as well as meet the borrowing needs of workers, in the coming time, the Social Policy Bank will coordinate with socio-political organizations and local authorities to improve the quality of loan assessment and appraisal, ensuring that capital reaches the right beneficiaries.
