(QBĐT) - In recent times, the job creation loan program has helped many households have the opportunity to invest in and expand their production and business models. From these models, people have a stable source of income and have risen to become legitimately wealthy in their hometowns.

With the desire to improve their family's economic situation , in 2020, Ms. Tran Thi Hoa from Phu Hoa commune (Quang Trach district) and her husband researched shrimp farming models in the commune. Ms. Hoa said that at that time, she and her husband were working in the construction materials trading business, but the business was not doing well, so they wanted to change professions. Seeing that many households in the commune were raising shrimp, she and her husband also wanted to learn and try it out.

After visiting and researching, the couple found that most shrimp farms followed traditional methods, which posed high risks and made shrimp susceptible to disease. Through the internet and books, they considered a high-tech shrimp farming model because it not only reduced disease but also increased productivity and economic efficiency. However, building such a model required a large capital investment, while the couple had very little capital.

The high-tech shrimp farming model brings a considerable income to Ms. Tran Thi Hoa's family.

Introduced to a loan package from the Social Policy Bank (NHCSXH) by the Phu Hoa Commune Women's Union, Ms. Hoa boldly borrowed an additional 100 million VND from the job creation loan package. Along with additional capital borrowed from relatives, she and her husband invested in building six high-tech fish ponds, each with an area of 200-250 .

“Raising shrimp is both easy and difficult. If the farming and care process isn't properly ensured, the shrimp are very susceptible to disease. That's why my family always strictly adheres to three factors: the shrimp fry must be disease-free, and the pond bottom and the water source leading into the ponds must be treated clean,” shared Ms. Tran Thi Hoa. Currently, her family maintains a mixed farming system across six ponds. Thanks to strictly following the farming process, each shrimp crop yields high productivity. On average, after deducting expenses, the high-tech shrimp farming model brings her family a profit of over 100 million VND per year.

Thanks to preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank, the family of Ms. Le Thi Tam in My Thuy commune (Le Thuy district) has built the Tung Tam tapioca dumpling brand.

Ms. Tam said that previously, her family's economy depended on a few acres of rice fields, making life quite difficult. To earn extra income to cover living expenses and support her children's education, during the off-season, her family made and sold tapioca dumplings. Because of their guaranteed quality and delicious taste, her family's dumplings gradually became well-known. With the support of the District Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, she received a 100 million VND loan from the Job Creation Loan program, which she invested in a dough kneading machine and a meat cutting machine to improve her dumpling production.

The job creation loan program has proven effective, not only creating stable jobs but also bringing high economic benefits to the people. Currently, the entire province has 16,062 customers who have received job creation loans, with outstanding loans reaching 832.7 billion VND.

“Thanks to the support of machinery, the cakes are produced faster, and the quality is also more assured of food safety and hygiene, so they are favored by many people. The cakes are not only consumed within the commune and district but also in provinces and cities nationwide. In 2023, the bánh lọc production facility brought in a profit of over 150 million VND. Recently, with the support and encouragement of the local government, Tùng Tằm bánh lọc has registered its brand and is striving to build a product that meets the local OCOP standards,” said Ms. Lê Thị Tằm.

Besides providing income for her family, her bánh lọc (a type of Vietnamese dumpling) production facility currently employs 5 local workers, with an income of 4-5 million VND per person per month.

According to Tran Van Tai, Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) - Quang Binh Branch: Recognizing the job creation loan program as one of the important channels supporting people's economic development, through socio-political organizations, VBSP has focused on disbursing funds and creating conditions for people to access the loan package quickly and promptly. This has significantly supported borrowers in maintaining and developing diverse occupations and creating more jobs for local workers. To ensure the effective use of the job creation loan program, aiming to create more job opportunities and better meet the borrowing needs of workers, VBSP will coordinate with socio-political organizations and local authorities to improve the quality of loan assessment and evaluation, ensuring that funds reach the intended beneficiaries.
