Master Nguyen Tan Tai - Deputy Head of Basic Engineering Faculty, Ho Chi Minh City College of Electricity guides students on the contents of the handbook on safe and economical electricity use issued by Southern Power Corporation and Southern Power Association.
The training course focused on propagating the principles of ensuring safe use of electricity in the home and in production; behaviors that should be done and avoided to prevent electrical incidents; effective electricity saving solutions, both reducing costs and protecting resources and the environment, especially measures to prevent fires and explosions during the rainy and stormy season.
Electricity users need to pay attention to regularly checking electrical lines and sockets in the home, installing them to ensure technical standards and periodically checking and maintaining rooftop solar power systems.
When it is flooded, it is best to turn off the circuit breaker in the entire house to prevent water from flooding electrical outlets and causing dangerous electrical leakage; do not attempt to repair electrical lines during a storm; do not go to the rooftop during a thunderstorm to clear the drain because the electrical lines may pass through the rooftop or porch, which is very dangerous if there is an electrical leakage.
Regularly check the electrical system, if it is not safe, it must be repaired or replaced immediately. Areas where power lines pass through must be checked, do not let electricity pass to houses, trees, fences or into water... which can cause accidents to people and pets.
Ha Thi Bao Vy (Hoa Thanh town) shared that after attending the training course, she formed the habit of using electricity economically through small actions such as drying wet electrical equipment before using it; not touching electricity when hands or feet are wet; not approaching broken electrical wires, fallen electrical equipment and poles or seeing a safety risk.
