According to the reporter, most of the candidates left the exam in a good mood because they did well on the test. The exam was not difficult according to both teachers and students. Doing well on the Math exam helped candidates feel more comfortable when taking the next two exams: English (afternoon of May 29) and Literature (morning of May 30).

At the Examination Council of Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School (Bien Hoa city), candidate Nguyen Thanh Nghia said he used all 120 minutes to do the test and was sure to get about 60% correct.
Leaving the exam room at the same time as Thanh Nghia, contestant Duong Bao Ngoc said that after receiving the exam papers, she took the time to look through them before doing the test. After finishing the test, Ngoc still had time to review the results. According to Bao Ngoc, this year's Math exam closely followed the content that had been learned, the types of exercises were familiar, she was confident that she would get 70% correct.

Candidate Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngan commented that the Math test was easy and she predicted that she could get 7-8 points. Thanh Ngan registered her first choice at Nam Ha High School, doing well on the Math test helped her feel more comfortable and confident to take the next two exams.
Commenting on the Math exam, Mr. Vu Ngoc Hoa, a Math teacher at Ngo Quyen High School (Bien Hoa City) said that the exam closely followed the 2018 GeneralEducation Program and the sample exam of the Department of Education and Training. The exam was accurate, scientific, had many practical questions, and was well classified.

A quick summary from the Department of Education and Training about the first exam session on the morning of May 29 showed that there were a total of 20,685/21,489 candidates taking the exam, with 804 candidates absent. The number of absent candidates is normal compared to previous exams, because candidates have many options to continue studying in grade 10, instead of choosing to take the entrance exam.
According to exam regulations, candidates who are absent from even one exam session will not be eligible for admission to high schools that organize exams.

This afternoon, candidates will continue to take the second exam, English, with a duration of 60 minutes. The exam starts at 2:00 p.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Candidates should note that they should arrive early to avoid being late for the exam as prescribed.
