On the evening of June 15, at Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 ( Hung Yen ), the 6th concert night in the concert series “Anh trai vu ngan cong gai” officially took place, concluding the journey in the north. Unfortunately, this was also the most challenging night since the beginning of the tour. Heavy rain suddenly poured down before the opening, causing a series of serious technical problems: interruptions in sound, lighting, and loss of stage connection, causing the show to be paused in the dark many times.
It seemed like a sign of a failed show, but the opposite happened. Tens of thousands of spectators remained, patiently waiting for hours. Their spirit of companionship and sharing was the factor that helped the show overcome adversity.
As soon as the rain started pouring down, singer Tuan Hung was the first to step onto the stage. Without an umbrella or raincoat, he spoke briefly but with a spirit of sharing: “If you can stand the wetness, then we can stand it too.” He then performed “Nâm Lận Tay Anh” and “Cầu mưa hư” (Holding My Hand) amidst the heavy rain and cheers of the audience. Without lights or effects, that moment became a memorable opening to a concert unlike any before.
The show still opened on time as planned. However, halfway through, a power outage occurred throughout the stage area, causing the sound system, lighting, and LED screen to all be turned off.
For nearly 40 minutes, the stage was plunged into darkness. There was no chaos or negative reaction. Instead, tens of thousands of spectators turned on their phones and sang the songs from the show together, from the National Anthem to familiar songs from the show. They shouted: “It’s okay!”, “Come on!” to cheer on the technical team and artists.
The artists went down to the audience to apologize and thank the audience.
In response to that spirit, artists such as Soobin, Jun Pham, ST Son Thach, Kay Tran, Bui Cong Nam, Kien Ung... proactively left the stage, went down to the areas below to apologize and thank the audience. No one could hide their emotions when seeing tens of thousands of people still sitting in the rain, showing no signs of leaving the stage. In the back, many artists who were not on the list of next performers also stayed behind to support in case of needing to "put out the fire".
The program's organizers also quickly posted an official announcement on their fanpage: "The organizers sincerely apologize to the audience for the event being interrupted due to weather problems, affecting the technical aspects." In addition to the apology, the organizers also sent their deep thanks to the audience for showing their spirit of companionship, patience and sharing - things that are not easily seen in a crowded music night, taking place in bad weather conditions and unstable technical conditions.
Both audience and artists "burned" under the heavy rain.
The technical problem was later resolved, allowing the show to continue, although it was not fully operational as planned. Thanks to flexible coordination, the artists returned to the stage one by one and continued performing.
Despite some improvisation and having to adjust the order of the performances, the concert still maintained the overall spirit. Notably, the show still had all 7 parts of content: Playfulness, Satire, Contemplation, Culture, Hit, Memories, and Partying in the Rain with a total of 61 performances.
The moment the artists stood on the wet stage, performing in the endless rain, became a symbol of the spirit of "overcoming hardships" as the name of the program suggests.
After the show, hundreds of posts appeared on social media sharing about this special performance. One audience member wrote: “I came because of the artists I love, but stayed because of the way they didn’t give up. And I don’t want to give up halfway either.” Another account also commented: “Not perfect, but truly touching.”
The artists themselves were also deeply moved by the sincere affection of tens of thousands of audiences for them. Kay Tran shared on his Broading cast channel: “The audience braved the rain and sun for 4.5 hours, then the power outage, but still stayed until the end to cheer for the artists, while we were the ones who had to apologize and cheer for everyone. Pure love is so beautiful.”
Jun Pham was moved: “Those who are not related to us still brave the rain with the artists. What have we done to make everyone stay despite the heavy rain, thunder, power outages, no sound, no LED screens, far away there are only small, dim dots on the stage... yet the cheering lights still sparkle without stopping. The program includes more than 60 performances, not to mention the exchange and 1 hour of power failure. The audience's spirit must be strong, their emotions must be very strong to be able to endure it."
Duy Khanh, a young artist who shed many tears during the performance, shared: “What remains deep inside Khanh is why everyone loves me so much. Tens of thousands of people had to stand in the pouring rain from afternoon to midnight, without any blood relationship, why should they love me so much. Yet they cried and laughed together, and just like that... shouted my name continuously for 6 hours without stopping with all their love and protection.”
BB Tran confided: "There were times when I felt like I couldn't stand on stage anymore, but seeing everyone gave me the motivation to continue. Thank you for coming and staying."
Although not the most technically sophisticated performance, the music night on June 15 was a great emotional highlight in the entire series of events "Brother overcomes thousands of obstacles".
For the artists, the audience and the Organizing Committee, this was an unforgettable music night, where the spirit of companionship, resilience and connection overcame all difficulties. And this was also the most memorable memory for both the artists and the audience throughout the journey of “overcoming thousands of thorns”.
