Voi Phuc Temple and Quan Thanh Temple received the Certificate of Special National Monument Ranking

Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh.

The formation and development of Thang Long Tu Tran began during the Ly Dynasty. When the Ly Dynasty built Thang Long citadel, they built Bach Ma Temple to the east of the citadel. Then, during the development process, four temples were built in the four directions of Thang Long citadel to worship the four gods guarding the four directions of Thang Long, including Bach Ma Temple, Voi Phuc Temple, Quan Thanh Temple, and Kim Lien Temple. People call this Thang Long Tu Tran. The four temples of Thang Long Tu Tran have been recognized as special national monuments. Of which, Voi Phuc Temple is Tran Tay, Quan Thanh Temple is Tran Bac, located in Ba Dinh district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District Ta Nam Chien stated that Ba Dinh District has 74 historical and cultural relics. Among them, Tran Tay is the Voi Phuc Temple worshiping the Supreme God Linh Lang Dai Vuong, the god who helped King Ly Thanh Tong fight the Song invaders. Quan Thanh Temple is the place to worship Huyen Thien Tran Vu, the god guarding the northern gate of the ancient Thang Long citadel. Through the ups and downs of history, the people still cherish and preserve these relics. Being recognized as special national relics is a great honor for the people of the capital in general, and for the three districts of Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Hoan Kiem in particular.

Also at the ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh requested the Party Committee, government and people of Ba Dinh district to focus on strictly implementing the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage on protecting and promoting special national relics, the city's Programs, Resolutions and plans on building, developing culture, developing cultural industry; pay attention to investing funds, facilities and synchronously implementing solutions to restore and embellish relics to leave a strong impression on the people of the capital, domestic and international tourists.

Representatives of Ba Dinh district leaders pledged to step up propaganda and further promote the value of special national relics to friends, people of the capital, domestic and international tourists; effectively exploit and promote the value of relics along with conservation, meeting the spiritual needs of the people.

After the ceremony to receive the Certificate of recognition as a special national monument, Ba Dinh district organized a procession to receive the ranking certificate, read the congratulatory letter and offered incense at Voi Phuc temple and Quan Thanh temple.
