The program aims to train high-quality future lecturers and scientists.
The subjects are students with excellent academic results, talent and passion for teaching and scientific research, with priority given to talented students but in difficult circumstances.
When participating in the program to develop lecturers and scientists of Vietnam National University , Hanoi (VNU) for the period 2026-2031, candidates will be partially or fully sponsored for tuition, living expenses, travel, internship and study expenses at home and abroad.

Candidates are supported with foreign language learning and accommodation during their study and research at Hanoi National University or the university's partner institutions in and outside the country.
Successful candidates will sign a training contract for lecturers, resource researchers or a labor contract with the school and will be sent to study at partner universities in Russia, France, the US, Japan, China, Korea, etc.
After completing the program and meeting the prescribed standards, candidates will be officially recruited as lecturers and researchers at Hanoi National University.
Along with the roadmap for developing high-quality lecturers and scientists, Hanoi National University also issued the Project "Investing in developing excellent scientists and strong research groups according to international standards".
Accordingly, in the 2024-2025 period, the school will focus on developing a team of 200 excellent scientists, each with at least 4 articles published in international journals in the ISI/Scopus category, thereby increasing the number of international publications to about 400-500 articles compared to 2023.
In the 2026-2030 period, the goal is to become an international standard research university and enter the top 500 universities in the world according to international rankings.
The international publication target is an average of 1.8 articles per lecturer, developing a club of 500 excellent scientists and 1,000 potential scientists.

In 2023, scientists at Hanoi National University published 1,711 international articles. According to statistics, in 2024, the number of international publications of Hanoi National University was about 17.06% higher than the previous year.
