With the project of applying artificial intelligence (AI) to servethe education of children in mountainous areas, a group of students from class 11D2 of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted (Hanoi) surpassed 900 teams and 450 entries to excellently win a position in the top 15 nationwide at the "AI for Good Vietnam 2025" contest - a national intellectual playground for high school students. Along with that, the group associated with Phan Huy Chu High School, Dong Da (Hanoi) of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted excellently won first prize in the high school category with the project "HOMI - AI application to accompany emotions in family relationships, helping to connect generations, understand and share".
Humanities Education Project
Participating in the contest with the topic "Application of artificial intelligence in language training for children in mountainous areas", the Vie-lingual group, consisting of 5 students from class 11D2: Luong Que Anh, Dao Quynh Chi, Dang Minh Hoang, Pham Hoang Linh and Hoang Ngoc Bao Khanh and the instructor - Literature teacher Do Thi Hoang Anh, made a strong impression on the jury and the Organizing Committee.
The project focuses on solving the language problem – one of the biggest barriers that make it difficult for ethnic minority children to access knowledge. Inspired by the story of a child in the highlands and the representative character of the application, the team recounts the journey of overcoming difficulties, the desire to study and the desire to rise up and contribute to the homeland of the children in the highlands.
The application developed by the team integrates modern technologies such as AI, machine learning, bilingual conversion (Kinh - ethnic languages), voice recognition, pronunciation guidance, learning through indigenous fairy tales and connecting study groups in the community. The project is not only deeply humanistic but also has the potential to expand practical applications, contributing to preserving cultural heritage and narrowing the educational gap between regions.
Playground for the young generation
“AI for Good Vietnam 2025”, co-organized by MSD United Way Vietnam and InterEdu education organization, is the next step of development from the success of Imagine Cup Junior for three consecutive years (2022–2024), where Vietnamese students were in the global top 10.
This year’s competition attracted nearly 900 teams from 48 provinces and cities, with about 450 eligible products. Topics of interest focused on practical social issues such as: Mental health, gender equality, environmental protection, cultural preservation, support for the disadvantaged, etc.
After the evaluation rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 45 teams into the top 15 of three groups: Primary, Secondary and High School. The top 5 best teams in each group will participate in the final round on May 10, with presentations and direct debates before the jury. The projects in the finals all demonstrated outstanding creativity and high applicability of AI in areas such as personalized education, care for the disabled and the elderly, waste recycling, cultural heritage preservation, etc.
