Ho Chi Minh City National University publishes more than 3,000 international articles in one year

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City National University published 4,153 scientific articles in domestic and foreign journals and conferences.

Of which, the number of articles published in international scientific journals in the SCIE/SSCI/Scopus categories is 3,120.

The above information was announced by Mr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University at the Annual Conference this morning (December 26).

According to Mr. Quan, Ho Chi Minh City National University is always the leading unit in the country in scientific publication, especially in prestigious international journals in the world 's two major database categories: Web of Science (by Clarivate) and Scopus (by Elsevier).

According to statistics from the Scopus database for the period 2020 - 6/2024, the number of articles published in journals ranked Q1 and Q2 by Ho Chi Minh City National University is about 66% and tends to increase gradually every year. If only counting the number of articles published in journals ranked Q1, this rate reaches 40.8%.

In the field of basic research, scientists of Ho Chi Minh City National University continue to cooperate with domestic and foreign units to publish research works in prestigious journals with very high IF (>15) such as: Nature Reviews Earth and Environment (IF = 49.7), Applied Catalysis B: Environmental (IF = 22.1), Nano Energy (IF = 16.8), Advances in Colloid and Interface Science (IF = 15.9), PhotoniX (IF = 15.7). Environmental Chemistry Letters (IF = 15). In particular, the publication in Nature Reviews Earth and Environment with an impact factor (IF = 49.7) "Building resilience in Asian mega deltas".

“This result shows that policies in scientific research at Ho Chi Minh City National University such as building key research programs associated with strong research groups, piloting the construction of centers of excellence; supporting funding for conferences and seminars with proceedings published in the Scopus category, allocating funds in a transparent and competitive manner based on output results have had positive impacts and brought about efficiency," said Mr. Quan.
