Covid-19 epidemic in Thailand increases dramatically, Ha Tinh is on high alert at the border gate

Authorities measure body temperature of people returning from Laos and Thailand through the border gate.

According to information from the Thai Ministry of Health , since the beginning of the year, the country has recorded 53,676 cases of Covid-19, including 16 deaths. In Bangkok alone, the number of cases is the highest with 16,723 cases. To proactively prevent and control the disease from entering the area, on the morning of May 15, leaders of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control came to inspect, monitor and direct the disease prevention and control work at Cau Treo International Border Gate.

Here, the delegation supervised the implementation of epidemic prevention and control for people crossing the border gate, especially for people returning to Vietnam from Thailand and Laos. Checked and supervised the implementation of body temperature measurement, medical declaration, equipment, vehicles, and chemicals to ensure good medical quarantine activities, promptly responding to suspected cases of Covid-19 or other infectious diseases. Prepared plans to handle possible epidemic situations.

Monitoring shows that most people passing through the border gate are still subjective in preventing respiratory diseases, including Covid-19. Only a few people proactively wear masks and limit large gatherings.

At the monitoring session, the leaders of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control requested medical quarantine officers at the border gate to strengthen inspection and supervision to promptly detect, isolate and promptly handle suspected cases of Covid-19, with the determination to prevent the disease from entering the area. Develop a plan to be ready to respond to epidemic situations according to the "4 on-site" motto; fully prepare chemicals, equipment, means and human resources to ensure meeting the requirements for epidemic prevention and control.

Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control has arranged enough human resources for quarantine and medical surveillance at Cau Treo International Border Gate to promptly detect suspected cases and take timely epidemic prevention measures.
