Specifically, SAS shares of Tan Son Nhat Airport Services Joint Stock Company (Sasco, Upcom) this morning increased by 14.87% to VND44,800. This is the second consecutive ceiling increase. In just the past 1.5 months, SAS has increased from VND25,000 to the current high.
Aviation recovery helps businesses achieve positive profits in the first quarter of 2024
SAS, chaired by billionaire Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, is a leading enterprise in the field of providing goods and services at Tan Son Nhat airport.
In the first quarter of 2024, Sasco achieved a profit after tax of nearly 46 billion VND, a sharp increase of 26.3% over the same period last year. Profit increased due to business recovery as travel demand at both domestic and international terminals increased.
Another airline company whose stock price has also been "surging" is Vietnam Airlines ' HVN. Currently, HVN's stock price is at VND35,450, a 3-fold increase in just over the past 3 months. If in mid-March 2024, HVN's stock price was only around VND13,000, investors holding this stock now have a "huge" profit of about 160%.
Over the past week, despite the VN-Index fluctuating after falling below the 1,300-point mark, HVN shares have increased for 6-7 consecutive sessions. Many investors expressed regret for "missing the boat" with this group of stocks.

SAS shares hit ceiling in session 21-6
Previously, Vietnam Airlines (parent company) announced that its first-quarter profit reached approximately VND1,500 billion, a sharp increase compared to the loss of VND137 billion in the same period last year. Consolidated profit after tax reached VND4,400 billion, a sharp increase compared to the loss in the same period last year.
According to Vietnam Airlines, the first quarter of 2024 is the peak business period in the aviation industry. The airline has optimized and improved the efficiency of using its fleet and human resources; minimized costs, negotiated service price reductions, interest rates, etc., helping to increase gross profit from sales and service provision sharply.
The highest market price of aviation stocks at the moment is recorded as ACV shares of Vietnam Airports Corporation. The current ACV stock price is 136,600 VND, up 2.02% compared to the previous session.
The corporation's shares have been on the rise since the beginning of the year, rising from VND64,000/share. ACV's strongest increase was in early May, when it jumped from VND86,000 to VND136,000 at the present time. In just half a year, the company's shares have increased by more than 110%.
In the first quarter of 2024, this corporation set a record with a net profit of VND 2,920 billion. For the whole year, ACV set a pre-tax profit target of VND 9,378 billion, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year, and these are also the highest numbers ever.
Currently, ACV is implementing two key projects: Tan Son Nhat T3 passenger terminal and Long Thanh airport, opening up expectations for a stronger recovery for the aviation industry in the near future.
ACV, HVN and SAS are all stocks that are surpassing 5-year highs.
According to experts, the recovery in demand for air travel in both domestic and international markets has helped businesses in the industry benefit.
