When the country needs it, the people need it, no matter how difficult it is, it will be done.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh first mentioned the speech that showed the profound understanding and far-sighted vision of the aviation industry of the great President Ho Chi Minh: "In the future, our country will have modern airports, Vietnamese aviation will develop. You must try to study and master science and technology to build an advanced aviation industry."
The Prime Minister stated that, from the historical foundation of the revolutionary air force, directly inheriting the heroic Air Force Regiment 919, the birth of Vietnam Airlines is an important milestone in the nearly 70-year proud history of the Vietnamese civil aviation industry. Thus, Vietnam Airlines has a special beginning, from a military unit, with identity, discipline, and the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in its officers and employees.
According to the Prime Minister, aviation is a high-tech industry, a source of great pride and glory, but also a great responsibility; the Party and State have paid great attention to it over the years; the development of aviation is a measure of the growth and development of our country, "wherever Vietnamese airlines and Vietnamese planes fly, our country's soft borders will go there".
Therefore, we must be proud of, inherit, promote the traditions, achievements and develop the aviation industry; encourage the development of airlines, including private aviation and cooperation with foreign airlines.

Emphasizing the importance, position, role and mission of Vietnam Airlines, the Prime Minister said that during the three decades of formation and development, there have been many airlines in the country, both private and in association with foreign countries, but Vietnam Airlines Corporation has always gloriously fulfilled its role as the national airline - the leading bird, not only participating in socio-economic development but also making important contributions to national defense, security, foreign affairs and people's livelihood, especially in the most difficult and challenging times.
In particular, during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the entire world aviation industry fell into an unprecedented crisis, the Corporation still maintained safe operations and made important contributions to the country's epidemic prevention work.
The corporation has contributed to transporting COVID-19 vaccines and equipment in a timely manner to serve the prevention and control of the epidemic, contributing to speeding up the process of reopening activities soon... "When the country needs it, the people need it, no matter how difficult it is, it must be done, without hesitation. Vietnam Airlines always completes its mission in a glorious, responsible and effective manner," said the Prime Minister.
After the pandemic, the consequences are still lingering, all economic sectors of Vietnam have suffered severe consequences, including the transportation industry in general and the aviation industry in particular. However, Vietnam Airlines is calm, courageous, finds solutions to overcome, recovers impressively, "revives" quickly, in 2024, achieves consolidated revenue increase of more than 21% compared to 2023 (reaching over 93,000 billion VND), gross profit reaches nearly 14,000 billion VND. Must fly high, reach far, spread across 5 continents and 4 oceans
In the coming time, in the context of the rapidly changing, complex, unpredictable international situation, fierce competition and increasing demand for green and sustainable development, while Vietnam is a developing country, the economy is in transition, the economic scale is still modest, the resilience to external shocks is still limited, the Prime Minister clearly stated 5 major orientations for Vietnam Airlines.
Accordingly, it is extremely important to grasp the situation, come up with timely, appropriate, flexible, effective responses, and seize opportunities.

Having a quick and appropriate mindset; always innovating and creating; mobilizing the combined strength of the entire population, society, and other businesses through broad forms of cooperation; because resources originate from thinking and vision, motivation originates from innovation and creativity, strength originates from the Vietnam Airlines ecosystem.
We must "look far and wide, think deeply and do big things", "work today and think about tomorrow and think even further"; we must fly high, reach far, and spread across the five continents and four oceans, "go together, keep up, and surpass".
Along with that, develop a modern, green, and unique Vietnam Airlines; build Vietnam Airlines' cultural identity based on the Vietnamese cultural tradition of independence, autonomy, striving to rise up, overcoming difficulties, striving constantly, the more pressure, the more effort, aspiration, dedication, steadfastness, courage, wisdom, intelligence, humanity, friendliness, responsibility, mutual love, respect for national love and compatriots.
To implement the above 5 major orientations, the Prime Minister requested Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies to continue to build and perfect institutions, quickly amend relevant laws, decrees and circulars, jointly remove difficulties and obstacles, turn institutions into competitive advantages, in the direction of more delegation, more decentralization, cutting procedures, reducing costs, increasing competitiveness for the aviation industry in general and Vietnam Airlines in particular.
Vietnam Airlines must be more bold in proposing institutions and removing obstacles. It must have the mindset of "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning impossible into possible, and turning unimportant into important is what is important."

Along with that, build modern infrastructure; develop a team of qualified, enthusiastic, passionate staff, especially improve service, serve passengers with friendly, gentle behavior, improve foreign language, professional, cultural and legal skills.
Developing a modern, green, safe aviation industry; building a Vietnam Airlines culture imbued with national identity; modern, smart, digital, green management and operation, reducing costs, reducing administrative procedures, decentralization, and delegation of authority; building an aviation industry that meets the country's development requirements and the development trends of the times.
The Prime Minister asked Vietnam Airlines to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, "unanimity from top to bottom, and transparency from top to bottom", all for the common good, the national interest, and the people; wishing Vietnam Airlines healthy competition and sustainable development.
