(Chinhphu.vn) - During his working program in Tuyen Quang province, on the afternoon of November 8, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and the Government delegation visited Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery, respectfully offered wreaths and burned incense to commemorate heroic martyrs.

On behalf of Tuyen Quang province, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh and representatives of the People's Council, departments, branches and sectors attended the incense offering ceremony.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to the outstanding children who devoted their lives to the independence, freedom and territorial integrity of the country.

Writing in the golden memorial book at Vi Xuyen martyrs' cemetery, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung wrote: "The heroic feats and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs will forever be an immortal epic, fostering patriotism, solidarity and the will to rise of the Vietnamese people.

Carrying forward the glorious tradition of our brothers, we vow to make unceasing efforts to build an increasingly prosperous country; promote reform and innovation; improve the material and spiritual life of the people; strengthen national defense and security; and maintain the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Pray for your souls to rest in peace in the bosom of our beloved motherland Vietnam.

Next, in the sacred space of the Vi Xuyen Front Martyrs' Temple at the height of 468 - where the sacred spirit of the mountains and rivers and the indomitable spirit of the nation converge, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Government delegation respectfully offered incense, remembered and expressed deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who fought bravely and fell to protect every inch of sacred land on the Fatherland's border.
