According to the updated data on tax debt situation up to January 31, 2024 of Vinh City Tax Department ( Nghe An ), at the top of the list of tax debtors is Minh Khang Trading Company Limited (business address in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City), currently owing more than 339.8 billion VND in taxes. This is also the enterprise with the largest tax debt in Nghe An province.
The reason is that this enterprise implemented a project to build a hotel complex, a supermarket selling pharmaceuticals - medical equipment and housing in Nghi Phu commune (Vinh city), collected money to buy land from hundreds of households but did not pay it to the budget.
Currently, the owner of this business has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for “fraudulent appropriation of property” and “abuse of trust to appropriate property”, so this will be the largest bad tax debt in Nghe An province, and at the same time lead to many other consequences related to the rights of people who bought land in the business’s project.
Coming in second on the list is BMC Construction Materials and Commercial Construction Company Limited (with a business address in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). This company owes more than 61 billion VND in taxes. This company is also implementing a number of real estate projects in Vinh City, some of which have been unfinished for many years.
Ranked third on the list is Thanh Vinh Investment, Production and Trade Joint Stock Company (with a business address at Nguyen Quoc Tri Street, Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City). This enterprise owes more than 9.3 billion VND in taxes.
Tecco Group Corporation (Linh Dong Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) owes more than 2.1 billion VND in taxes.
Cultural Construction Joint Stock Company (Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City) owes more than 2 billion VND in taxes.
The remaining businesses owe tax amounts ranging from several million VND to less than 2 billion VND.
According to the representative of Vinh Tax Department, in order to collect taxes correctly and fully, the unit regularly organizes propaganda, mobilization, reminder, guidance and support activities for organizations and individuals to pay taxes. For tax-indebted units, the tax authorities implement measures and sanctions in accordance with the procedures and regulations of the law.
