Dien Bien: Exhibition of 33 special issues of People's Army newspaper published on the battlefield

On the morning of June 12, at the Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command Relic in Muong Phang, Dien Bien province, the exhibition "33 special issues of the People's Army newspaper published at the Dien Bien Phu battlefield" opened.

Delegates cut the ribbon to open the Exhibition.

This is one of the practical activities organized by Dien Bien province, towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

Mr. Tran Hai Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien, affirmed: The 33 issues of the newspaper displayed at the Exhibition are special publications, published right at the front line from December 28, 1953 to May 16, 1954. Each issue is a "battlefield news", carrying the hot breath of the battle, expressing the brave spirit, extraordinary determination and steadfast belief in the victory of our army and people.

In terms of content, the issues not only vividly reflected the developments of the campaign but also fully depicted the spiritual and material lives of soldiers on the front lines: from preparing the battlefield, pulling artillery into position, to organizing logistics, taking care of soldiers' health, and even homegrown musical performances to fuel morale amid the days of bombs and bullets.

The letters and instructions of encouragement from President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap solemnly printed in the newspaper issues are proof of the close attention of the Party and State leaders to each soldier in the trenches.

"The exhibition is not only an opportunity to review the special role of revolutionary journalism in the resistance war, but also affirms the everlasting value of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism. From the Dien Bien Phu trenches in the past to the ideological and cultural front today, the press has always accompanied the Party, serving the Fatherland and the people" - Mr. Tran Hai Ha especially emphasized the significance of the Exhibition.

Through the Exhibition, Dien Bien Province also hopes that the value of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield National Special Relic will continue to be spread, contributing to promoting tourism, educating traditions and arousing national pride for today's and future generations.

The exhibition will be held until June 21, 2025 to serve tourists and people of Dien Bien to visit and learn.
