The drill focused on the network cluster 9 of cyber security incident response network, including 12 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.
The drill was conducted on three systems, including: Vinh Long Province's integrated data sharing platform managed and operated by Vinh Long Department of Information and Communications; An Giang Province's Open Data Portal managed and operated by An Giang Department of Information and Communications, and the Electronic Information Page managed and operated by Dong Thap Department of Information and Communications.
The drill aims to improve the capacity of members of the incident response network, incident response team, and specialized information security unit. Strengthen the protection of information systems, and promote information security to agencies, organizations, and people.
From there, promptly detect weaknesses and security holes in technology and processes to propose appropriate solutions to ensure information security for the system.
The defense team is responding and dealing with the offense team.
At the same time, the drill helps the incident response teams gain experience in handling incidents on operating systems, gradually improving their combat capabilities. The drill also helps evaluate the capacity of the system monitoring unit, the incident response capacity of network members, and plays a role in improving the capacity of the incident response team.
The drill took place on a real system, without a pre-script, and without any restrictions on the target participants. Therefore, it requires the participating teams to prepare thoroughly, systematically, and have protection plans ready to minimize risks and ensure the system is always safe during the drill.
The 2024 cyber security and safety exercise will take place from November 1 to 6.
