Of these, 5,287 households raised black tiger shrimp on an area of ​​6,794 hectares (down 2,934 hectares compared to the same period), reaching 28.9% of the plan, with 269.4 million juveniles; 4,301 households raised white-leg shrimp on an area of ​​2,017 hectares (up 327 hectares compared to the same period), reaching 26.2% of the plan, with 1.32 billion juveniles.

There were 575 shrimp farming households with losses, with 142.64 million shrimp (accounting for 10.23%) on an area of ​​191 hectares (accounting for 8.27%). Shrimp were sick at the stage of 07 - 40 days old; of which, white spot disease accounted for 30.8%, acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease accounted for 32.8%, intestinal disease accounted for 15%, white feces disease accounted for 12.5%.

In the proactive monitoring of aquatic disease prevention and control, 15 samples were collected from households and key farming areas (06 crustacean samples in key farming areas; 09 commercial shrimp samples); the results detected 06 samples carrying white spot disease.

In collaboration with the School of Aquaculture - Can Tho University, we collected 02 samples showing signs of early mortality and isolated bacteria; the isolation results detected purple colonies on Chrome agar medium, which were Vibrio parahaemolyticus causing glassy disease (TPD).
