Adjusting the target for completing social housing

On the afternoon of July 25, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired an online conference of the Government on adjusting the target of completing social housing in 2025 and the following years until 2030 for localities to add to the socio-economic development target. Attending were representatives of leaders of ministries, departments and central branches.

Attending at the Quang Tri province bridge were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Phong Phu; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors.

In Decision No. 338/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Investing in the construction of at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the period of 2021 - 2030" (hereinafter referred to as the Project), the target is to strive for a total of about 1,062,200 apartments completed by localities by 2030. Of which, about 428,000 apartments will be completed in the period of 2021 - 2025; about 634,200 apartments will be completed in the period of 2026 - 2030.

Implementing the Project, through synthesizing reports from localities, in the period from 2021 to June 30, 2025, nationwide, 692 social housing projects have been deployed with a scale of 633,559 units; of which 142 projects have been completed with a scale of 93,793 units, 140 projects have started construction with a scale of 126,385 units, 410 projects have been approved for investment policy with a scale of 413,381 units.

For Quang Tri province (after the merger), the target for the period 2025 - 2030 is 24,100 apartments. With the achieved results and the expected plan for the following years, Quang Tri province will find it difficult to achieve the target.

Based on reports from localities, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha adjusted the time to suit the actual requirements of social housing construction; at the same time, he emphasized that sectors, Party committees and local authorities must resolutely direct and urge implementation, ensuring the completion of the goals assigned by the Prime Minister, meeting the housing needs of those in need.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also requested the Ministry of Construction to report on construction progress to the Prime Minister. For some localities, it is necessary to commit to the time to complete the social housing construction targets to ensure the progress is on schedule.

Regarding the proposals of the sectors and localities, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also proposed solutions.
