DIFF 2024: The ultimate match between defending champion France and host team Vietnam

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the evening of June 8, on the banks of the poetic Han River, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2024 officially opened, stirring up the coastal city with sparkling fireworks displays from defending champion France and host team Vietnam.

With the theme "Cultural Essence", the opening night kicked off a series of five fireworks nights lasting from June 8 to July 13, considered a vibrant artistic high note in the magical symphony of fireworks, music and light to highlight the friendship and solidarity among nations around the world.

Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that the general theme of the festival is "Global Connection - Radiant Five Continents", DIFF 2024 wants to convey a message about the connection between peoples, countries, the harmony between people and nature to move towards a peaceful, civilized, and prosperous world .

"Along with the explosion of professional fireworks teams from countries around the world, the festival also has many accompanying programs that will bring visitors a complete experience of the festival and the beautiful city," informed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

The first confrontation of DIFF 2024 comes from the defending champion ArtEventia (France) and the host team Da Nang (Vietnam). With more than a decade of "fighting" experience, taking the theme "Sky Dance", the Da Nang team (Vietnam) created a performance that was eye-catching and bursting with emotions with 3 chapters: Heavenly lanterns - human harmony - prosperity. Like birds soaring in the sky, gentle and soaring, the "prelude" fireworks of the Vietnamese team appeared in the sweet sounds of the song "Heaven". When the music started to get lively, the fireworks exploded, spreading wide and brilliant rays of light. The shape resembling birds spreading their wings and flying high symbolizes the development and sublimation of the beautiful coastal city, the hospitality of the people of Da Nang. The climax is the last bursts of fireworks that bloomed continuously, interwoven with hundreds of lighting effects at the same time, overwhelming the audience. The image of a series of fireworks resembling clenched hands in the night sky over the Han River was one of the most memorable moments of the opening night, lighting up a strong message of solidarity and friendship between nations.

Taking the image of the dragon, which is also the mascot of 2024 in Vietnamese culture, the reigning champion team France painted the sky of the Han River with enchanting and captivating "dances" to convey the message of strength, power and human connection. Starting with the majestic, somewhat poignant sound of "Lady Dragon", the team's fireworks were shot into the sky, creating waves of light that curved like mighty dragons. The clusters of fireworks were layered and rotated continuously to harmonize with the captivating sounds of "The Light", "Requiem for A Dying Sea",... The explosion was when the vibrant melodies of "Kill This Love" performed by the Korean girl group Blackpink were played. The team also scored strongly with the audience when they brought Vietnamese music with the song "Sweetness of Tomorrow" by My Tam and rapper Suboi into the performance.

In addition to the intense competition of light and sound from the competing teams, the audience at the opening ceremony of DIFF this year also enjoyed a unique artistic space. The stage was designed with inspiration from the image of a "hand" with fingers reaching high, as if supporting the fireworks bursting brightly in the sky, emphasizing the profound message of connection.
