This move is said to have come after Lam Dong province reached an agreement with the investor of the King Palace project, Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company, on the cost the business had invested in the project, after many negotiations.

According to documents, Palace 1 Da Lat was built in 1940, and was once the residence and workplace of King Bao Dai. In 2014, Palace 1 was leased to an investor, Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company, to carry out a high-end tourism and resort project and was named King Palace.

Therefore, the Government Inspectorate requested to terminate the operation and withdraw the project for re-auction in accordance with regulations.

After that, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee decided to reclaim the land leased to Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company and hand it over to Da Lat City People's Committee for management. Because the parties have not yet agreed on the amount of money the enterprise has invested in the project, the investor has since then continued to manage and exploit Dinh 1.

On April 17, 2024, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province issued a document on the revocation of the King Palace project and the development of a lease auction plan. In particular, it requested that Hoan Cau Da Lat Joint Stock Company immediately cease operations and business at the King Palace project; hand over assets and land to the People's Committee of Da Lat city for management before April 30.

Palace 1 is one of the famous tourist attractions in Dalat.

Recently, after many negotiations, the two sides have agreed on the project investment value, as well as the depreciated amount, the rental fee for Dinh 1 and the amount that Lam Dong province needs to refund to the company when the project is reclaimed.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned Da Lat City People's Committee to receive and manage the assets and land of the King Palace project after being handed over; organize protection and preservation, and prevent degradation, damage, and desertification.
