On the afternoon of September 12, Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh received a regrettable 1-2 loss (17-21, 21-15, 11-21) to the Chinese Taipei couple Chen Sheng Fa and Lu Chen in the men's doubles quarter-finals of the Vietnam Open 2025.
Entering the quarter-finals, the host country's representative was expected to do quite well after defeating the 6th seeded pair Su Ching Heng - Wu Guan Xun in the round of 16. However, their opponent today is Cheng Sheng Fa - Lu Chen.
The Chinese Taipei pair impressed with a shock win over No. 1 seeds He Zhi-Wei and Huang Lui-Hsuan in the men's doubles to enter the quarter-finals.
On the rankings, Dinh Hoang - Dinh Manh are ranked above their opponents (ranked 96 compared to 147).

Cheng Sheng Fa - Lu Chen showed better control and forced the Vietnamese representative to constantly defend. Despite their best efforts, Dinh Hoang - Dinh Manh still lost 17-21 in the first set.
In set 2, under the cheers of the home crowd, both players suddenly played better and had many impressive smashes to tie the score 1-1.

However, the opponent Chinese Taipei showed superior class in set 3 to easily end with a difference of 21-11.
Despite the defeat, Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh's journey was extremely commendable. Reaching the quarterfinals of the Vietnam Open will be the motivation for both of them to continue to reap success in the near future.
