In particular, focusing on issues related to tax incentives of the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) for Dak Lak agricultural products; meeting new standards, protecting brands, building supply chains and preventing risks in exporting to the EU market.
Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, senior consultant of the Government Office , Head of the Working Group assisting the National Steering Committee on International Integration, Government Office; representatives of the Department of Foreign Market Development, the Trade Promotion Agency, the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade); and 150 delegates representing industry associations, business associations, enterprises operating in the fields of import-export, production, processing, logistics, and banking in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, informed that Vietnam has implemented 16 free trade agreements (FTAs) and is continuing to negotiate FTAs in the coming time. This creates great opportunities for businesses to effectively utilize the signed FTAs to expand export activities, increase revenue, and contribute to the country's economic development.
According to data provided by the Customs Department, in 2024, Dak Lak province's exports to the EU market will reach nearly 1.9 billion USD; in which the main export products are coffee, vegetables, cashews, pepper, rubber, cassava, textiles, garments, etc.

Mr. Phuc emphasized that the workshop was organized with the desire to help enterprises, cooperatives and agricultural production units of the province have a clearer understanding of EVFTA and tariff incentive opportunities, thereby orienting appropriate strategies to expand the market and increase the added value of agricultural products.
At the same time, through the workshop, the industry and trade sector hopes to grasp the needs of businesses in the province in order to design necessary, useful and practical trade promotion programs, helping businesses export agricultural products of the province not only to the EU market but also to other markets in the coming time.

At the workshop, delegates listened to experts and speakers sharing and disseminating information related to the markets of EVFTA member countries; issues related to EVFTA's core tax incentives for Dak Lak agricultural products; identifying and preventing key risks in exporting to the EU; key guidance on rules of origin (ROO) and self-certification of origin (REX) mechanisms in the new context; decoding EU standards - From food safety to new sustainability requirements...
In addition, experts and delegates also spent a lot of time discussing, exchanging and answering questions about the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR); tax incentives, rules of origin, how to register and protect trademarks in the EU; sharing experiences in exporting products to the EU market, etc.
