More than ever, the Vietnamese Government is paying special attention to the domestic market with 106 million consumers. In that context, shopping malls, supermarkets and convenience stores not only provide products but also guide consumer habits, making an important contribution to economic development. Therefore, modern commercial infrastructure is considered a strategic pillar, in line with the Strategy for developing the Vietnamese retail market to 2030, vision 2050, which the Prime Minister has just issued.
According to Mr. Tran Huu Linh, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is also about to submit to the Prime Minister important policies, such as converting nearly 7,000 traditional markets into modern convenience stores and shopping malls. This is a strategic step to continue improving commercial infrastructure, enhancing consumer experience and modernizing the retail market.
“We hope that there will be more modern shopping mall models, like the system that Central has developed, to contribute to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese retail industry. Today's opening ceremony of GO! Thang Long is not only an important event but also opens a new stage of development. We hope that Central Retail will continue to accompany and sustainably develop the Vietnamese retail market, while focusing on the consumption of goods of Vietnamese origin, especially in remote areas where commercial infrastructure is still limited,” said Mr. Tran Huu Linh.
Committed to accompanying Vietnamese products
Mr. Olivier Langlet, General Director of Central Retail Vietnam Group, said: GO! Thang Long is currently one of the most modern shopping centers in the capital, with a total investment of 650 billion VND, of which more than 200 billion VND is spent on renovating and upgrading the 35,000 m² space, completely renewed from equipment to design, all aimed at a convenient, accessible and safe shopping experience for all customers. The center is upgraded to international standards, converging more than 250 prestigious brands in the fields of cuisine, shopping, entertainment and lifestyle.

In addition to infrastructure development, Mr. Olivier Langlet is also committed to supporting Vietnamese products. More than 90% of products in our supermarket system come from Vietnamese manufacturers and suppliers. "We believe that every Vietnamese product contains the quintessence and pride of the Vietnamese people, and our role is to help spread those values more widely. At the same time, we always aim for community responsibility," said Mr. Olivier Langlet.
In particular, in order to accompany small and medium enterprises across the country, on the 2nd floor of the Trade Center - the operating area of GO! Thang Long supermarket, a promotion area has been arranged, introducing famous OCOP products from all over the country; creating conditions for the people of the capital to shop for specialty products, preparing for the upcoming Tet holiday.
At the opening ceremony of GO! Thang Long Trade Center, Mr. Nguyen The Hiep, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, shared that in the trade and service development strategy, Hanoi identified modern trade centers such as GO! Thang Long as playing an important role in the target of GRDP growth of over 8% in 2025 and towards double-digit growth in the period of 2026 - 2030.
In addition, the City is focusing on developing OCOP products and more than 1,350 traditional craft villages. GO! Thang Long's provision of space to display and promote OCOP products and regional specialties is a very meaningful step, helping OCOP entities, artisans and craft villages access modern retail systems, boost product consumption, and spread the cultural and creative values of Hanoi.
With synchronous facilities, convenient services, walkways and areas for the disabled, and a series of weekend experience activities, GO! Thang Long is a typical model of civilized commerce, green consumption, digital commerce, in line with the modern commercial development orientation of the City. The commercial infrastructure has been comprehensively upgraded, synchronous, modern, and friendly, contributing to job creation, promoting the consumption of Vietnamese goods, and better meeting the shopping and entertainment needs of the people of the Capital.
On the occasion of the opening, in order to contribute to the local community where GO! Thang Long is operating, Central Retail Vietnam Group announced a donation of essential goods worth 100 million VND to SOS Children's Village Hanoi.
