Businesses join hands, Binh Dinh completes temporary housing elimination 7 months ahead of schedule

5 years helping 9,888 households have new houses

On the afternoon of May 16, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to summarize the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and support the construction and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs in the province.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, reported on the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, as of May 2025, the whole province has started and completed the construction, repair and upgrading of houses for 4,411 households, reaching 100% of the set plan, 7 months ahead of schedule compared to the direction of the Prime Minister . Of which, poor households, near-poor households, and newly escaped poverty households: 2,187 households (new construction: 1,638 households; repair: 549 households); households with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs: 2,224 households (new construction: 893 households; repair: 1,331 households).

In addition to using resources from the 5% savings on regular state budget expenditures in 2024 and national target programs, the Fatherland Front at all levels and agencies and localities in the province have been flexible, proactive and creative in mobilizing and calling for other resources to implement the program with a total amount of 307 billion VND.

In addition, the whole province mobilized 6,118 working days; 577.8 tons of cement, 51,000 bricks... and more than 400 cubic meters of soil and sand from armed forces units, businesses and socio- political organizations.

Previously, from 2020-2024 (before the Prime Minister launched the movement), Binh Dinh province also supported 5,477 households to build and repair houses. Of which, 4,517 households built new houses; 960 households repaired houses. Total implementation cost: 240 billion VND.

In total, from 2020 to present, the whole province has supported the construction and repair of houses for 9,888 households (including 7,048 newly built households and 2,840 repaired households), with a total implementation cost of about 547 billion VND.

“The program not only helps people have solid and safe housing but also contributes to improving the quality of life and strengthening trust in the care of the Party and the State. This is also an important step in the multidimensional poverty reduction strategy, creating motivation for households to escape poverty sustainably,” the Chairman of Binh Dinh Province shared.

Businesses join hands to contribute

To ensure the progress and effectiveness of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Binh Dinh province has implemented many creative models and effective methods. These models not only help speed up the construction and repair of houses for poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households and policy beneficiaries, but also promote the combined strength of the whole society.

Rewarding many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements and exemplary performance in implementing support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

These good models are flexibly applied, suitable to the actual situation of each locality, while encouraging the participation of organizations, businesses and communities in jointly implementing the program.

Including the plan to organize a groundbreaking ceremony simultaneously throughout the province to demonstrate the determination of the entire political system; create motivation and inspiration for cadres, civil servants, agencies, organizations, businesses and people to raise awareness and create consensus in implementing the program.

In addition, the movement of "whoever has something to help" is promoted to diversify support resources. In addition to the central and provincial budgets, Binh Dinh also issued preferential loan policies and temporary funding support from the local budget to implement the program.

In particular, many local enterprises such as Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company, Thanh Phu Company, Thanh Ngan Company, Bay Cuong Company, Phu Tai Bio-Energy Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Binh Dinh Construction Association, etc. have accompanied and provided huge resources to help Binh Dinh province complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule.

"4 truths"

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the spirit of drastic and close direction and flexible, creative, specific and very close implementation methods in the process of implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Dinh province. Thereby, it not only inspired but also created trust and broad consensus in society.

Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung gave an assessment speech.

“In the process of implementing the program, Binh Dinh province has four truths. They are: telling the truth, doing the truth, achieving real results, and giving real benefits to the people,” affirmed the Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses.

At the same time, he emphasized: “People will not be successful if they do not have a stable home, and cannot escape poverty if they do not have a house to protect them from the rain and sun. This is the joy, happiness, and greatest gift that the Party Committee, the government, and the people of Binh Dinh bring to their own people.”

Reviewing the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung acknowledged and commended the efforts of Party committees at all levels, authorities, armed forces, associations, businesses, and philanthropists who joined hands and unanimously implemented the program.

According to him, the completion of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and support the improvement of housing for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs’ relatives is a milestone of profound political, social and humanitarian significance, a bright spot in the province’s social security work. This is the result of the determination and great efforts of the Party Committee, government and people in the province. It is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of mutual love and support of the Vietnamese people.

Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung shared at the ceremony.

“New houses are not only a material shelter but also a belief, a hope, a motivation for the poor and families with difficulties to work and produce with peace of mind, gradually improve their lives, and escape poverty sustainably,” shared Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung.

At the ceremony, 33 collectives and 31 individuals with outstanding achievements and typical examples in implementing support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives, poor households, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee.
