Happiness – The Foundation of Sustainable Development
In recent decades, "happiness" has gradually become a new measure of development, alongside traditional indicators such as GDP or profit. Many advanced countries such as Japan, South Korea or European countries have soon incorporated the concepts of "Happiness Management" and "Well-being Economy " into their development strategies. Large corporations such as Google, Unilever, Toyota or DBS Bank (Singapore) all affirm that when employees are happy, businesses are truly sustainable.

In Vietnam, "happiness" is not a strange concept. Happiness has always been a measure of social progress, a criterion of socialism in Vietnam. In the relationship between independence - freedom - happiness, independence is the premise and condition for freedom and happiness; and freedom and happiness are the measure of the value of national independence. Therefore, a happy society has long been an important goal in the strategic vision of the Party and the Government .
According to the World Happiness Report 2025, Vietnam ranked 46th globally - the highest ever and 2nd in Southeast Asia, just after Singapore. Notably, Hanoi also appeared for the first time in the top 10 happiest cities in Asia and the top 20 globally, alongside Beijing, Shanghai and Mumbai. These positive signals show that Vietnamese people increasingly have a clearer sense of safety, connection and confidence in the future.
In that context, Vietnamese enterprises - especially in the financial sector - are expected to become the "core of happiness" of the economy. Because more than anyone else, they are the ones who create financial security, contributing to the quality of life for millions of people.
"Happy Bank" Philosophy - Vision in Sustainable Development Strategy
Saigon Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) has recently been associated with the phrase "Happy Bank" by the media.
