Images of floating rafts in various colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple... are being shared by the travel community on social networks, promising to be an attractive destination for young people in the near future.
New "7-color rainbow" raft village appears at Chau Doc river junction
In recent days, images of a colorful raft village have appeared on social networks, attracting the attention of travel lovers. The location is at the Chau Doc River junction, in Da Phuoc town, An Phu district, An Giang province.
Mr. Khuong Nhut Minh from Vinh Long , just arrived at this raft village on September 18, was very impressed with the scenery and called this place "rainbow raft village" because it is so colorful.
"From Chau Doc market, there is a tourist boat that takes visitors to visit the floating village, it takes about 5 minutes to get there. It's so great, in the West I have never seen such a fish raft," said Mr. Minh, adding that he really likes the floating houses that are built close together, with full amenities and furniture like on land.
The fish rafts are close together, solid and sturdy.
Mr. Minh was also quite surprised because the houses on the river were very large, sturdy, solid, not as wobbly as he imagined. "In Vinh Long, people in my hometown often build fish rafts on floating buoys, which feel a bit wobbly. But here, people reinforce them very firmly, they put planks on both sides of the raft, and the front and back are fenced with nets. The large raft is 20 m long and 10 m wide, the small raft is 12 m long and 6 m wide. I went to a household and learned that the owner raises about 100,000 he and silver carp, which can only be harvested after 10 months," said Mr. Minh.
Each fish raft is a floating house on the river.
According to the An Giang Province Trade and Investment Promotion Center, Chau Doc raft village has existed for a long time and is a famous freshwater fish farming place in the province with all kinds of fish such as: tra fish, silver carp, red tilapia, snakehead fish, he fish... In the past 20 years, the number of rafts has increased.
To create highlights and renew An Giang tourism products, the locality has a policy of painting about 160 fish rafts on the river in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple... to create a beautiful effect and attract tourists.
"It is expected that in one month we will finish painting, at that time we will introduce the colorful raft village to exploit tourism," said Mr. Le Trung Hieu, Director of the Trade and Investment Promotion Center of An Giang province.
There are about 50 painted fish rafts.
Previously, some fish farming households in Chau Doc floating village had provided tourism services, but the number was very small. After putting on a new "coat", the locality will mobilize people to welcome visitors, add food services, and let everyone experience fish farming on the river. At the same time, learn about the life on rafts of people in the river area, enjoy the typical dishes of An Giang province...
In addition, visitors can combine learning about the culture of the Cham community in nearby An Giang, watching brocade weaving, visiting mosques, enjoying traditional cakes, buying handicraft products... as souvenirs.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple houses... shine brightly on the Hau River
According to Mr. Hieu, after completing the painting part, the project will continue to install LED lights on the fish rafts to create a highlight at night, so that visitors can come and experience and admire the sparkling raft village scene on the Hau River.
To get to the raft village, visitors stop by the basa fish monument area in Chau Doc market to book a boat tour for 100,000 VND/person. In addition, you can buy a package tour from travel companies, with a schedule to visit Chau Doc raft village, Chau Giang Cham village, Ba Chua Xu temple, Tra Su cajuput forest... for 850,000 VND/person, including meals and travel insurance.
