Local leaders visit the family of Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet (middle, Long Hoa commune, Can Duoc district)
Deep scars
Many months have passed since that fateful day, but Ms. Le Thi My Yen (Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district, Long An province) still cannot overcome the pain of losing her husband. While operating a tree pruning operation in an industrial park in the district, her husband was hit by a tree that fell in the wrong place and died on the spot. The sudden passing of her husband left Ms. Yen widowed and struggling financially .
Ms. Yen choked up as she recalled: “That day, I was selling rice paper on the street when I received a phone call with the bad news. Hearing that my husband had an accident, I was stunned.” Bearing the utmost pain, Ms. Yen sent a message: “Through my husband’s heartbreaking incident, I hope that businesses and employers will truly put the lives and health of workers first and pay more attention to labor safety.”
In a small, simple house in Long Hoa commune, Can Duoc district, the atmosphere of mourning still prevails. Mrs. Phan Thi Nguyet (50 years old) had to endure the pain of "the old man seeing off the young man" when her only son passed away in a traffic accident while on a business trip for the company. The traffic accident took away a dutiful son, a pillar of the family's economy, extinguishing all hope and a bright future for Mrs. Nguyet.
“He was my everything... my joy, my motivation to live on. Yet... he left me when I was just over 20 years old. This pain cannot be described in words" - Mrs. Nguyet choked. Memories of her obedient, hard-working son who always loved his mother kept flooding back into her mind. Each memory seemed to cut deeper into the already large wound in her heart.
Industrial accidents occur, taking away the lives and health of many people, leaving deep mental scars that haunt those left behind for life. The heartbreaking stories of Ms. Yen and Ms. Nguyet’s families are two of countless tragic situations caused by industrial accidents. That pain is like a lingering wound in the heart, difficult to heal over the years.
Safety is the top priority
Avery Dennison RIS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Long Hau Industrial Park, Can Giuoc District) organized a first aid class for accident victims.
Realizing the importance of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, many enterprises in the province have been making efforts to build a safe working environment for employees. Director of Southeast Asia Operations (under Avery Dennison RIS Vietnam Co., Ltd., operating effectively in Long Hau Industrial Park, Can Giuoc District) - Duong Dinh Huy affirmed: "At Avery Dennison RIS Vietnam, occupational safety is always a top priority and is implemented in all production activities of the Company".
A business in the province fully equips workers with protective equipment.
According to Mr. Duong Dinh Huy, the company pays special attention to equipping employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to use production equipment safely. In addition, training programs on first aid and emergency care are organized regularly, helping employees to be able to respond promptly in emergency situations. This is the basic knowledge that the company equips its staff with, demonstrating deep concern for employee safety.
Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is not the responsibility of any individual but needs to be carried out seriously and systematically by employers and employees, aiming to build a safe and effective working environment, contributing to the sustainable development of the province. |
According to Mr. Bach Hoang Anh - employee of Avery Dennison RIS Vietnam Co., Ltd., in addition to the safe working conditions that the company ensures, the awareness and responsibility of employees also play a key role in preventing occupational accidents.
“Because we are directly involved in the production process, we are aware of the potential risks at work. Therefore, it is extremely important to voluntarily and strictly comply with occupational safety regulations, practice skills in identifying and preventing risks, and have a high sense of responsibility in each operation to protect ourselves and our colleagues,” Mr. Hoang Anh shared.
In ensuring occupational safety and hygiene, in addition to the responsibility of building a safe working environment and process for the enterprise, the awareness of employees is equally important. This is also a link in building a safe working environment. Mr. Ho Long Thuong - an employee of PNJ Long Hau Factory (Can Giuoc District), shared: "We are periodically trained and reminded about safety procedures. But the important thing is that each person must remind themselves not to be negligent because even a small mistake can lead to big consequences."
Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is not the responsibility of any individual but needs to be carried out seriously and systematically by employers and employees, aiming to build a safe and effective working environment, contributing to the sustainable development of the province./.
