On August 2nd, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai FC officially sent a letter to the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), announcing their withdrawal from the LPBank V-League 2025-2026 national football championship, despite the team potentially meeting the professional requirements to participate in Vietnam's top football league.

In a letter sent to VPF, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Football Club stated: "We have held meetings and carefully considered all aspects. With a spirit of openness and responsibility towards the tournament, the fans, and the image of the club, we regret to announce that Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Football Club will not participate in the LPBank National Football Championship 2025-2026."

The club's leadership also acknowledged that this was a difficult decision, as participating in the V-League is always the aspiration of every professional club. However, the club determined that sustainable development needs to be based on a solid foundation, in which fans and the fan community play a central role and are the core driving force. "This is not only a guiding principle for all of the club's activities, but also a strategic goal in the journey of building a professional team with its own identity and sustainable development," the announcement stated.

Immediately after receiving official notification from Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club, VPF transferred the tournament slot to PVF-CAND Club — the team ranked next in terms of eligibility criteria (ranked third in the 2024-2025 First Division).

After receiving the invitation, PVF-CAND accepted the offer and will replace Truong Tuoi Dong Nai in the V-League 2025-2026. This is a notable change in the organization of the upcoming season, and also a step demonstrating Truong Tuoi Dong Nai's caution and long-term orientation in its journey towards professional development.

PVF-CAND will host SLNA on August 15th at their home stadium in Hung Yen . This stadium previously used VAR in the First Division during the 2024-2025 season. The stadium currently has approximately 6,000 seats in the stands, but will need to install additional movable stands in Stand B to meet the V-League stadium requirement of at least 10,000 seats.
