Laos has proactively proposed to change the schedule, citing reasons related to the organization and travel of the host team. This proposal has been approved by AFC and notified to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Meanwhile, most of the remaining matches in the 5th round of Asian Cup qualifiers will take place on November 18, except for the match between Afghanistan and Myanmar which has been postponed to March 2026. That means, before facing Laos, coach Kim Sang Sik's team will know the result of the remaining match in Group F between Nepal and Malaysia.
To prepare for the match with Laos, the Vietnamese team gathered on November 10 in Phu Tho . Notably, striker Xuan Son returned after 10 months of injury. This is an important addition to the Vietnamese team in the context of problems in the attack line.
