The above information was stated by the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense in the guidelines on organizing admission to full-time military university and college training at military academies and schools (hereinafter referred to as schools) in 2025.
Cases eligible for direct admission
Subjects for direct admission are specified in Clause 1 and Point a Clause 2 Article 8 of the University Admission Regulations, as follows:
- Labor Hero, People's Armed Forces Hero, National Emulation Fighter graduated from high school.
- Candidates who won first, second, or third prizes in national or international competitions for excellent students or national or international science and technology competitions organized and sent to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training ; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission.
The subjects of direct admission are specified in Point b and Point c, Clause 4, Article 8 of the University Admission Regulations, as follows:
- Object:
+ Candidates are ethnic minorities with very few people according to current regulations of the Government and candidates from 20 poor border and island districts in the Southwest region.
+ Candidates who have had a permanent residence for 3 years or more, studied for 3 years and graduated from high school in poor districts (ethnic boarding high school students are calculated based on their permanent residence) according to regulations of the Government and Prime Minister.
+ For the academies: Military Engineering, Military Medicine, Military Science and Air Force Officer School (Military Pilot training system), direct admission for the above subjects has not been conducted.
- Standard:
+ Regarding academic qualifications, candidates must meet the following standards:
* The academic results of 3 years (grades 10, 11 and 12) must be good or above, in which the average score of the 3 subjects in grade 12 according to the combination of subjects that the candidate registers for direct admission must be good or above.
* The scores of the high school graduation exams or subjects must be 6.5 points or higher (on a 10-point scale).
+ Regarding conduct (training): The candidate's conduct (training) ranking in high school or equivalent must be good or higher.
Successful candidates must take 1 year of supplementary knowledge before officially entering school; the supplementary knowledge program is determined by the director or principal of the school.

Priority admission cases
Priority admission subjects according to regulations in Clause 5, Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations, include:
- Candidates who are subject to the provisions of Clause 1 and Point a Clause 2 Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations but do not use the right to direct admission, will be given priority for admission to the majors according to their wishes.
- Candidates who win consolation prizes in national excellent student competitions; candidates who win fourth prizes in national science and technology competitions will be given priority for admission according to the major appropriate to the exam subject or content of the competition topic in which they won the prize; the time of winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of admission.
Targets and subjects, fields of winning prizes are considered for direct admission, priority admission
- Subjects and fields that win prizes are considered for direct admission and priority admission: Regulations in Appendix I attached (please read at the end of the article) .
- Target:
Subjects for direct admission as prescribed in Clause 1 and Point a, Clause 2, Article 8 and subjects for priority admission as prescribed in Clause 5, Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations:
- Schools synthesize and report to the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense for consideration and decision on admission for candidates who register for direct admission, prioritize admission according to regulations and meet standards.
- Some specific regulations are as follows:
+ The Military Science Academy's direct admission quota and priority admission quota are no more than 50% for each male or female candidate in the language and International Relations training majors; no more than 50% for the Northern region or Southern region of the Technical Reconnaissance major.
+ The Military Technical Academy and the Logistics Academy recruit no more than 50% of the female candidates for the Northern or Southern regions.
+ Military Medical Academy, the Medical faculty recruits no more than 50% of female candidates for the Northern or Southern regions; the Pharmaceutical faculty recruits no more than 50% of female candidates, not divided by region but not exceeding the quota of each region.
- In case there are still quotas for direct admission or priority admission but no more candidates register for admission, these quotas will be accumulated for the remaining methods.
Subjects for direct admission are specified in Point b and Point c, Clause 4, Article 8 of the University Admissions Regulations:
Schools assigned an enrollment quota of more than 100 students will be considered for direct admission of no more than 3% of the quota; schools assigned an enrollment quota of 100 students or less will be considered for direct admission of no more than 5% of the quota.
