The Vietnamese women's futsal team will face Indonesia in the second round of the Southeast Asian women's futsal group stage, in a match taking place at 3 p.m. today, November 18. Indonesia is not an easy opponent, because in the opening match, the archipelago country's women's team made it difficult for host Thailand, only winning by a narrow score of 1-0.
However, the Vietnamese women's futsal team successfully deciphered Indonesia. Aware of their opponents' strengths in physique and pressing style, Thanh Hang and her teammates entered the match with great concentration. It was this very serious attitude that helped coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team get off to a good start when they took a 1-0 lead in the first minute.

With a beautiful combination, confusing the Indonesian defense system, Phuong Anh curled the ball into the net from a narrow angle, putting the Vietnamese women's futsal team in the lead.
The early goal helped Nguyen Dinh Hoang's students to destroy the opponent's defensive plan, thereby making it easier to attack the goal when Indonesia had to raise the team higher in the hope of having attacks to find an equalizer. In the 5th minute, the Vietnamese futsal team doubled the gap. From Thanh Hang's sideline kick, Phuong Anh turned the ball over for Bien Thi Hang to head in, raising the score to 2-0.
Not long after, Thanh Hang assisted Bui Thi Trang to score, raising the score to 3-0. In the 12th minute, Thuy Trang crossed the ball for Bien Thi Hang to score, raising the score to 4-0. This was also the goal that "ended" Indonesia's efforts to earn at least 1 point.
With a very dense competition schedule, one match per day, and no need to compete for goals as the first and second place teams will advance to the finals, the Vietnamese women's futsal team proactively slowed down the pace in the second half to save energy for the journey ahead.

That was also the plan for coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang to test his team's defense system when giving control of the ball to Indonesia. With those calculations, in the second half, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had very few approaches to the opponent's goal. In the defense system, the players also had valuable experiences under the pressure of Indonesia but still kept the net safe.
In the final minutes, Indonesia used a power-play tactic, creating an opportunity for the Vietnamese women's futsal team to score another goal. After regaining control of the ball in the 38th minute, Thanh Ngan fired a long-range shot that went straight into the opponent's empty net, sealing a 5-0 victory.
Thus, the Vietnamese women's futsal team has won 6 points after 2 matches, thereby almost certainly occupying 1 of the 2 leading positions to enter the final match of the 2024 Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament.
