Lac Hong University team to participate in ABU Robocon 2025 in Mongolia

The Lac Hong University Robocon team represents Vietnam at the ABU Robocon 2025 final round which will take place on August 24 in Mongolia.

The final round of the Asia- Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) 2025 officially took place on August 24 at ASA Arena, Sukhbaatar, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Affirming position in the regional Robocon playground

On the morning of August 21, Lac Hong University held a ceremony to send off the school's Robocon team to participate in the ABU Robocon 2025 competition.

Team LH - UDS (Unstoppable Dream Shot) of Lac Hong University ( Dong Nai ) will represent Vietnam to participate in the final round of ABU Robocon 2025.

LH - UDS consists of 15 members, under the guidance of lecturer Nguyen Dinh Dai. In the journey to conquer Robocon Vietnam 2025, the team not only won the national championship, but also impressed with a 3-point long throw - the first time recorded in the final round.

With 21 years of participating in the Robocon playground, Lac Hong University has affirmed its position with 10 national championships and 3 crowns at the ABU Robocon international arena, winning 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Principal of Lac Hong University - said that in preparation for this year's competition, the team had more than 8 months of continuous, serious and disciplined training. "The school believes that the LH UDS team with its spirit of discipline, creativity and dedication will compete with all their might, confidently win and bring glory to Vietnam," said Mr. Quynh.

14 teams from 13 countries and territories compete at ABU Robocon 2025

This year's competition brings together 14 teams from 13 countries and territories, including Cambodia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

This year's competition, themed "Basketball Warriors", was highly competitive, requiring smart tactics and the ability to control the situation right from the start of the match. It was the fierce defensive play, making good use of the robot's pressing ability and a deep understanding of the competition rules that helped LH - UDS outperform their opponents.

Sharing before departure, team captain Lam Quoc Tho said the team's goal is to win the ABU Robocon 2025 championship, continuing to put Vietnam and Lac Hong University on the regional and world robot innovation map.

"We are honored to represent Vietnam to compete with the strongest teams in the region at ABU Robocon 2025. Regardless of the result, we are proud of having tried our best and carrying in our hearts the desire to contribute to the Fatherland. Each member sees this as a valuable opportunity to learn and grow," said Quoc Tho.
