Vietnam U.23 team gathers: National Cup champions absent

Due to being busy playing in the National Cup final, the players of SHB.Da Nang and V.Ninh Binh including coach Nguyen Van Sy, players Quang Hung, Danh Ngoc, Manh Dung and Minh Tuan will gather later than the whole team, expected to be in the next 2-3 days.

According to coach Hoang Van Phuc, the election of captain and vice-captains has not yet taken place because the number of U.23 Vietnam players is not yet complete. Therefore, Van Quyet is still the captain, and the two vice-captains will be Manh Dung and Buu Ngoc as before.

The team is expected to gather in Hanoi for 1 week before leaving for Hungary for training.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training are working hard to complete the necessary legal procedures so that the Vietnam U.23 team can have an effective overseas training session to prepare most actively for the 27th SEA Games.

During the overseas training in Hungary, the U.23 Vietnam team will receive support from the Hungarian Football Federation, which will arrange to play 2-3 matches with Hungarian professional clubs.

After the above training trip, on September 23, coach Hoang Van Phuc and his team will return to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for two friendly matches against the youth team of Galatasaray Club (Türkiye) on September 27 and against U.23 Santos (Brazil) on September 29.
