The Vietnamese team entered its first training session in Vientiane, starting the tactical completion phase before the confrontation with the Lao team in the 5th match of Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup Final Qualifiers.
Favorable training conditions
Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team's training session took place at the Lao Football Federation's Youth Football Training Center, about 40 minutes away from the team's base. The weather ranged from 22 to 26 degrees Celsius, with light rain but did not affect the quality of the Vietnamese team's training.
After the warm-up, the coaching staff deployed specialized content on offensive and defensive tactics. In the second half of the training session, the players were divided into teams to compete against each other to improve their ability to change state and accuracy in coordination.
The training atmosphere was positive, especially the new recruits like Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong and Khong Minh Gia Bao tried very hard to integrate and prove themselves in the national team environment.
"Rookie" catches up quickly
Before the training session, midfielder Khong Minh Gia Bao shared his feelings of surprise, happiness and pride when being called up to the national team. The player born in 2000 admitted that he was still confused but quickly got used to the training pace and the team's tactics thanks to the help and guidance of his teammates and the coaching staff.
To achieve today's results, Gia Bao is grateful for the efforts of Coach Van Sy Son, the teacher who trusted and gave him the opportunity to play as a starter when he was still playing for Quang Nam . This was also the "launching pad" for the central defender of the HCM City Police Club to grow and progress.

As a center back who does not have the advantage of height, Gia Bao determined to make up for it with determination, fighting spirit and daily efforts to improve himself. "I learned a lot from the playing style of center back Tran Dinh Trong - a player who is not too tall but stands out thanks to his ability to judge and his "toughness" in disputes, nicknamed "expert in hunting Westerners" - Gia Bao confided.
Besides, Gia Bao also highly appreciated the class of naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son. "He is still in the process of regaining his feeling and playing condition after a long time of injury treatment. Xuan Son is a high-class striker of Vietnamese football" - the "newbie" of the Vietnamese team added.
In the coming days, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will continue to maintain a regular training schedule to perfect their tactical plans, aiming to win all 3 points in the match against the Laos team on the evening of November 19.
