As Thanh Nien reported, according to plan, at 11:10 p.m. on November 17, the Vietnamese team will fly back to Hanoi and is expected to land at 1:40 a.m. on November 18, to prepare for the match with the Iraqi team on November 21.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that there are only two flights from the Philippines to Vietnam each day, one at 5am and one at 11pm. The Vietnamese team chose to fly late at night so that the players have time to rest and recover in Manila.
Coach Troussier's players performed brilliantly, defeating the host team Philippines 2-0 on the artificial turf field of Rizal Memorial on the evening of November 16. On November 17, the coaching staff let the players work out at the hotel gym and relax at the swimming pool. The players were divided into 3 groups based on the frequency of their activities during the match with the Philippines team to practice according to the appropriate volume.
Because of the victory in the opening match, the whole team is very relaxed and confident. The team arrived at Manila airport and completed the exit procedures to return home. It is expected that on the afternoon of November 18, the team will have a training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. The visiting team, Iraq, will practice at the My Dinh secondary field.
