Welcoming the 'unification train' on the day of liberation April 30

The ceremony was attended by leaders of Da Nang City, representatives of ministries, branches and central agencies such as the Ministry of Construction , Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism, along with thousands of people, students, veterans and historical witnesses.

Nearly 900 passengers on this special train were present at the station in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. Of these, about 400 passengers got off the train in Da Nang, nearly 500 passengers continued their journey to the two ends of the country, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Previously, on the evening of April 29, the farewell ceremony for the "Reunification Train" was held simultaneously at Saigon Station and Hanoi Station with the attention and encouragement of many people.

With the theme “Unification Railway – A united country”, Vietnam Railways Corporation organized a pair of special trains named “Unification Train” including train SE1 departing from Hanoi station at 20:55 on April 29, arriving at Saigon station at 6:50 on May 1; train SE4 departing from Saigon station at 19:00 on April 29, arriving at Hanoi station at 5:40 on May 1. Both trains are decorated with historical images and national colors, bringing a special cultural space to passengers.

The highlight of the train journey is not only the festive atmosphere with revolutionary music performances and heroic songs echoing along the journey, but also the special live performances from Hue to Da Nang (train SE1) and from Tam Ky to Da Nang (train SE4). When the train stops at Da Nang Station, passengers are welcomed by a vibrant drum performance, a community music program and an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Train Depot Party Cell.

Many meaningful activities such as giving gifts to veterans and releasing doves for peace were also held.

The image of the Reunification train connecting the North and South is a symbol of peace, of the aspiration for national independence and the joy of victory and reunion of the Vietnamese people.

At the historic moment of 11:30 a.m. on April 30, passengers together recalled memories of 1975 through “Victory News”, a special program broadcast on the train, recalling the joy of the day the country was reunited.

In particular, Vietnam Railways Corporation offers special gifts to passengers who are war invalids, sick soldiers, and veterans traveling on the "Reunification Train", including an invitation ticket to travel on the entire Vietnam Railway network. At the same time, from April 24 to May 9, 2025, Vietnam Railways will reduce 40% of ticket prices for policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, and relatives of people with revolutionary contributions. To date, 1,049 preferential train tickets have been sold.

Through this special journey, Vietnam Railways not only pays tribute to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for national independence and freedom, but also hopes that every passenger boarding the train will be a "Happy Passenger", more proud of the national tradition and confident in the bright future of the country.
