New Hope and Faith
Ms. Lang Thi Son, Thai ethnic group, Giong Xep hamlet, Nhuan Phu Tan commune (Mo Cay Bac) happily said that she has participated in the Festival for many years, but this is the most meaningful year for her. "It is a great pride to sing the song "Like having Uncle Ho on the great victory day" with the provincial leaders and delegates from other ethnic groups in the area. The majestic voice seems to bring us back to the joy of the historic April days 50 years ago. The joy of victory, the joy of the country being united, so that today, the ethnic groups in Vietnam in general, and Ben Tre in particular, can meet and exchange visits with each other with new faith and expectations, the expectation of entering a new era, the era of national growth" - Ms. Lang Thi Son confided.
It is known that Ms. Lang Thi Son is from Thanh Hoa, in 2012 she got married and moved to her hometown of Nhuan Phu Tan. Currently, her family's life is stable with her husband and 2 children. She said that she and her family always actively participate in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements launched by the Front and local authorities, especially the campaign for the whole people to unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and New Rural Sunday. She thanks the Party Committees, authorities, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for having many policies and guidelines on ethnic groups, many effective and practical activities to develop and maintain the cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups. The annual celebration of the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups on April 19 has created conditions for her to meet, integrate into community life, unite, love, and help each other, without discrimination.
As for Ms. Bui Thi Luu, a Muong ethnic, in 2010 she followed her husband to his hometown of Phu Ngai commune (Ba Tri) to live. At first, when she first moved to her husband's hometown, she also faced many difficulties. However, thanks to the enthusiastic help of her husband's family, the friendliness of her neighbors, the care and support of the Fatherland Front, organizations, and local authorities, her life and that of her family gradually stabilized. She said that she was able to build a house, her children were able to study with peace of mind, and her economy was developing steadily.
“This year's festival takes place while the whole country in general, Ben Tre in particular, is organizing many activities towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025, I feel proud. Proud of the development of the country and my hometown Ben Tre today. Although I have only lived on Phu Ngai land for more than 14 years, I feel the changes, the traffic infrastructure is developing, the material and spiritual life of the people is improving day by day. Many policies of the Party and State to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of ethnic people are fully, promptly and equally resolved" Ms. Bui Thi Luu shared .
Towards a prosperous Ben Tre

Speaking at the festival, Vice President of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dang Thi Phuong emphasized: On the occasion of the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day on April 19, towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2025), the 135th anniversary of the birth of the great President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), welcoming the Party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organizes the Ethnic Solidarity Day in the province. This is an opportunity for ethnic people to meet, exchange and visit each other among ethnic groups, and at the same time express their feelings and emotions while living in the homeland of Ben Tre coconut. This is also an opportunity for provincial leaders to directly visit, ask and encourage ethnic people to actively participate in emulation movements and campaigns to contribute to the overall development of the locality.
Vietnam is a multi-ethnic country, with 54 ethnic groups living together. In Ben Tre province, in addition to the Kinh ethnic group, there are 22 ethnic groups with 8,875 people living together in the province, the largest being the Chinese ethnic group with 7,490 people, the remaining ethnic groups have a number of several hundred, a few dozen people and some ethnic groups have only 2, 3 people such as: Cho Ro, X'Tieng, Thuong, BaNa, Xo Dang, ...; the ethnic groups in the province that have settled the longest are the Chinese and Khmer ethnic groups, the remaining ethnic groups in Ben Tre mainly come to live in Ben Tre through marriage.
The ethnic minorities in the province have now integrated into community life, united, loved, and helped each other, without discrimination. All policies of the Party and State on caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people, including ethnic minorities, have been fully and equally enjoyed; in addition, a part of them also enjoy policies for ethnic minorities.
Since then, the ethnic minorities in the province have had a more and more stable life in terms of material and spiritual aspects, always united with the community, actively participated in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements launched by the Party, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other organizations; many outstanding individuals among the ethnic minorities have been admitted to the Party; participated in work in political organizations, socio-political organizations at all levels; many children of ethnic minorities have been educated and achieved success. Typically: Currently, there are 36 members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels; there are 9 delegates to the People's Councils at all levels.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, promoting the core role in gathering and building the great national unity bloc, the Vietnam Fatherland Front system, socio-political organizations and mass organizations continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, respond to the emulation movement "New Dong Khoi", build new rural areas, civilized urban areas, etc.; carry out well the work of social supervision, criticism and contribution to Party and government building; pay attention to caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members, members, ethnic minorities and the People; carry out well the work of social security, especially caring for policy families, poor households, households in difficult circumstances ; at the same time, the work of caring for and supporting the poor of ethnic minorities is always focused.
2025 is the year to celebrate major holidays and important events of the country and the province. With determination to strive and focus more strongly on leading the implementation of the Provincial Party Committee Resolution in 2025, continue to implement the motto of the 11th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025: "Democracy - Discipline - Consensus - Creativity - Development". Promote "Democracy" in the activities of the political and social system; strictly maintain "discipline"; continue to promote "consensus" and high unity in the political system and the people; promote "creativity" in performing the tasks of cadres and party members; implement breakthrough solutions to "develop" the economy - society quickly and sustainably.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also requested the system of Fatherland Fronts at all levels and member organizations to continue to coordinate in promoting propaganda and mobilizing ethnic people to well implement the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws; to be assured and trust in the correct leadership of the Party, especially the policy of rearranging and reorganizing administrative units at all levels and building a model of organizing a 2-level local government; at the same time, listen to and record the legitimate and just thoughts and aspirations of ethnic people to make recommendations to competent agencies for consideration and resolution; pay attention to and create conditions for ethnic people to access loan sources to develop livelihoods, increase income, stabilize life and support the construction of great solidarity houses.
Promote the role of the Front Working Committee, prestigious and representative people and grassroots mediation teams to propagate and mobilize the people, promptly resolve issues arising from the grassroots, propose to competent authorities to thoroughly resolve them in accordance with the aspirations and customs of ethnic minorities living in residential areas, and not let bad guys take advantage of, incite or create "hot spots" related to ethnic and religious factors.
“We believe that the people of all ethnic groups in the province will continue to maintain solidarity and actively participate in implementing patriotic emulation movements launched by the Party, government, Fatherland Front and organizations at all levels.
