Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang congratulated Ambassador Jaya Ratnam on his successful term in Vietnam with many important milestones in his role as a bridge, actively and effectively contributing to promoting the Vietnam-Singapore cooperative relationship, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that General Secretary To Lam 's official visit to Singapore (March 11-13, 2025) opened a new era in Vietnam-Singapore relations with the upgrading of relations to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, creating a strong driving force for the two countries to develop increasingly deep, substantive and effective relations.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore is developing increasingly well, substantially and effectively. Vietnam is Singapore's fourth largest trade partner in ASEAN; Singapore is Vietnam's fourth largest trade partner in ASEAN, and is currently the largest ASEAN investor in Vietnam.
Notably, 15 VSIPs (Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks) are a symbol of successful economic cooperation between the two countries, creating an important driving force for Vietnam and Singapore to continue cooperation and development.
Discussing with the ambassador many cooperation contents between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Singaporean partners, the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics suggested that the two sides continue to promote cooperation in training programs and fostering leaders, especially training programs and fostering future leaders and young leaders, on the basis of regular innovation in accordance with Vietnam's strategic policies.
At the reception, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam shared his good feelings and deep impressions during his 5-year term in Vietnam; expressed his admiration for Vietnam's spirit in overcoming many difficulties and challenges, achieving success in many fields; especially in the context of the world facing many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam has risen to develop strongly, most recently, Vietnam has successfully organized the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam shared that during his tenure in Vietnam, he had the honor to witness the two countries upgrading their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; affirming that in the future, no matter what position he holds, he will always support Vietnam and foster the Vietnam-Singapore relationship. Believing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam proposed to the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics a number of activities to promote the development of the Vietnam-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang agreed with Ambassador Jaya Ratnam's proposal and sincerely thanked the Ambassador for his active contributions and support. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his hope that in his new position, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam will continue to support Vietnam and, together with Singaporean partners, will continue to promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, as well as cooperation between the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Singaporean partners.
