
Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Standing Member of the Party Committee of the Central Fatherland Front and Central Mass Organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Party Secretary - Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association , chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were: Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; representatives of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Vietnam Fatherland Front , the Central Party Office, agencies and units under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association.
Promoting the intelligence and sense of responsibility of veterans
In his opening speech, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong emphasized that contributing ideas to the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress is an opportunity to promote democracy, intelligence, and sense of responsibility of cadres and members, contributing to creating high consensus and unity within the entire Party, people, and army.

In recent times, the Vietnam Veterans Association has extensively implemented the collection of comments on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress. Up to now, there have been more than 277,500 comments sent from more than 18,500 conferences, 2,185 seminars and talks, along with tens of thousands of comments in writing and via email.
Immediately after receiving instructions from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association issued a plan and documents directing all levels of the Association to organize discussions and give comments seriously and on schedule.
Propaganda work was promoted through the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, newsletters, electronic information pages and the association's grassroots system, helping to spread the spirit of responsibility and strengthen members' confidence in the 14th National Party Congress.
High consensus with the content of the drafts
Most of the comments sent in agreed and highly appreciated the quality of the documents. Many delegates commented that the draft documents this time have a tight and scientific structure, comprehensively reflecting the achievements of 40 years of Renovation, clearly demonstrating political mettle, intelligence and aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.
Opinions said that the document highlighted four strategic breakthrough pillars including: Science, technology and innovation; deep international integration; private economic development; comprehensive and synchronous institutional improvement and enhancement of state management effectiveness.
The draft Political Report received more than 252,000 comments, focusing on solutions for national development and Party building in the new period. The draft Report summarizing 40 years of Renovation received 162,890 comments, mainly recommending clarification of the international context, foreign affairs achievements and institutional reforms.
More than 153,480 comments were submitted on the Draft Report summarizing 15 years of implementing the Party Charter, focusing on leadership capacity, quality of Party cell activities and exemplary role of cadres and Party members.
Contribute your ideas and propose innovations
At the conference, 10 out of 18 delegates sent papers to the Organizing Committee and gave many profound and comprehensive comments.
Delegate Dam Huy Dac, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Quang Ninh province, said that the draft document deeply reflected the achievements of 40 years of Doi Moi, demonstrating the strategic vision and aspiration for national development until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
He proposed adding content on "green development" and "innovation", specifying the growth model associated with regional linkages and developing high-quality human resources.
Delegate Do Phu Tho, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Veterans Newspaper, emphasized that the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation is a matter of survival. He proposed adding the content of "theory on the renovation path" as a pillar in the Party's ideological foundation, contributing to consolidating the political and ideological battlefield in the new period.

Delegate Dinh Van Truy, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Hai Phong city, proposed that the draft report summarizing 15 years of implementing the Party Charter needs to be adjusted and supplemented to suit the two-level government model, strengthen discipline, and maintain the principle of democratic centralism.
Delegate Nguyen Quang Hanh, Association of Veterans of Communist Magazine, proposed to more clearly define the pillars of the socialist model in Vietnam, including: Socialist-oriented market economy; Socialist rule of law state; socialist democracy led by the Communist Party of Vietnam; socialist culture.
In particular, culture needs to be recognized as a pillar with an increasingly important role, having a profound influence on all areas of social life, contributing to the goal of building a civilized and comprehensively developed society.
Delegate Nguyen Duc Thuan, Chairman of the Veterans Association of Bac Ninh province, proposed improving party member standards, applying technology in management, activities and supervision of party members, while ensuring publicity and transparency in rewards and discipline.
Delegate Luong Hong Phong, Deputy Head of the Veterans Affairs Committee (Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association), proposed to innovate thinking and methods of inspection, supervision and Party discipline to meet the requirements of Party building in the new period.
He emphasized the need to shift from "passive" to "proactive", carry out "extended supervision, focused and key inspections", strengthen coordination between agencies, apply digital transformation and build a strong team of inspection officers, contributing to preventing violations and strengthening people's trust in the Party...
In his concluding remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, intelligence and enthusiasm of the delegates. Nearly 3 hours of lively discussion brought many valuable opinions, contributing to the completion of the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th Congress.
Opinions were highly unanimous on the content of the draft documents, assessing them as the result of a meticulous and serious preparation process, honestly reflecting 40 years of national renewal.
The drafts clearly demonstrated innovative thinking, accurately reflected reality, and proposed directions suitable to development requirements in the new period. In addition, delegates also suggested studying, supplementing, and adjusting some draft contents to be closer to reality.
Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong requested the agencies and units of the Association to continue to synthesize and complete the report on comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, and send them to the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front according to regulations.
