
Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai congratulated Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam on his excellent completion of his term in Vietnam; highly appreciated the Ambassador's role and positive contributions in consolidating and developing the good friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore. Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee believes that, no matter what position he holds, Ambassador Jaya Ratnam will always fulfill his duties excellently and continue to devote special affection to fostering the relationship between the two countries.

Ambassador Jaya Ratnam thanked the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee for facilitating good coordination and cooperation between the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam and the agencies of the National Assembly as well as with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City during his previous term as Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Expressing his joy at the strong developments in Vietnam-Singapore relations, the Singaporean Ambassador also said that there are many areas for the two sides to further strengthen cooperation in the coming time, including people-to-people exchange, parliamentary cooperation, cultural exchange, etc.

The Ambassador hopes that the two sides will promote the high-level strategic dialogue initiative between the two countries, turning this initiative into an annual bilateral high-level strategic dialogue mechanism to create a forum for discussion and unify cooperation directions, contributing to bringing the Vietnam - Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership into increasingly deeper, practical and effective.

Agreeing with the Singaporean Ambassador, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai also said that the two sides need to further strengthen people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to further tightening the relationship between the two countries and the friendship between the two peoples. The two sides also need to further promote parliamentary cooperation through delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations, creating a premise for promoting comprehensive cooperation in all fields.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee also emphasized the need to continue to seek new spaces and new areas to strengthen bilateral cooperation, such as in the fields of science, technology, innovation, etc. In particular, it is necessary to soon have a new cooperation model in organizing the effective implementation of the agreements signed by both sides, promoting the strengths of each country and bringing benefits to both sides.
