
On the morning of April 2, the Vietnamese military rescue force continued to divide into 3 groups, actively searching for victims of the Myanmar earthquake in the Oattara Thiry hospital area.
Along with that, the Vietnamese military medical force also actively supported Oattara Thiry hospital to be able to deploy medical measures there.
According to Major General Pham Van Ty, Deputy Director of the Department of Search and Rescue, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, on the morning of April 2, two more bodies were brought out by rescue forces, bringing the total number of victims found to seven.
Relatives of the victims have been waiting for nearly a week to find their bodies.
A Defense Television reporter at the scene said that the weather conditions are currently very unfavorable for rescue operations. The capital Naypyidaw is currently experiencing heat waves of up to 39-40 degrees Celsius. However, the team is determined to bring all four victims trapped at Oattara Thiri Hospital back to their families this afternoon and evening.
This morning, the Vietnam People's Army Rescue Team also decided to establish a temporary command post at Oattara Thiri Hospital to focus on thoroughly handling all tasks; at the same time, establish a disaster relief medical team in both internal medicine and surgery with full medical examination and treatment equipment and medicine.
This morning, the medical team examined, treated and provided free medicine to a number of people.
Also today, the dog team will continue to search other locations in the hospital where victims are suspected to be trapped.
