Over the past 11 years, Labor Month has truly become a great festival for workers with many specific activities aimed at workers and has received deep attention from Party committees at all levels, authorities, employers, the response of a large number of unions, workers and positive recognition from the whole society.
Trade Unions at all levels in Long An province have carried out many activities to represent, care for, and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees; improve working conditions for employees, build harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises; and affirm the role and position of the provincial trade union organization in the process of socio-economic development of the province.
In the month of May 2025, the provincial trade unions will focus on organizing 5 typical activities: The program of creative workers, confidently entering the new era; The May Dialogue Program and the Party-Worker Forum - Workers with the Party; The program of thanking workers; organizing the peak month of developing trade unions, establishing grassroots trade unions; introducing and developing party members of workers; The program of propaganda and raising awareness of trade unions and workers.

In particular, the Employee Thank You Program has a profound humanistic meaning, aiming to express gratitude for the contributions of employees in labor and production activities at enterprises, contributing to the sustainable development of enterprises and the socio-economic development of the province.
In the Employee Gratitude Program, the Provincial Labor Federation presented 1,000 gifts to employees who are good, exemplary, excellent, hard-working, and have been with the company for 5 years or more, but are in difficult circumstances, have work-related accidents, serious illnesses, or are pregnant. Each gift is worth 1 million VND.
In particular, the program also has the support of enterprises in giving gifts, expressing gratitude to employees who have actively contributed to the development of the enterprise, especially participating in innovation initiatives, helping to improve productivity and reduce production costs. On the occasion of Labor Month this year, the Provincial People's Committee presented 20 gifts to employees who had occupational accidents with a disability rate of 61% or more, each gift is 2 million VND in cash.

During the Labor Month, all levels of the Trade Union effectively carried out the goal of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees; building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; at the same time, contributing to strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels, enhancing the responsibility of authorities at all levels in paying attention to building the Vietnamese working class in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country; thereby affirming the role and position of the provincial Trade Union in the process of socio-economic development of the country and the province. Also from those results, the annual Labor Month is considered the peak month for all levels of the Trade Union to organize activities to care for union members and employees. Provide useful knowledge for workers
Not only focusing on activities to care for workers’ lives, the trade unions at all levels also pay attention to improving workers’ understanding, helping to protect workers better. During this year’s Labor Month, the provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the provincial Center for Disease Control to organize propaganda on policies, laws and reproductive health care for workers at 5 enterprises in the province.
During the propaganda session at Sheen Bridge Company Limited (Can Giuoc district), Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - Pham Thi Quyen informed many important knowledge about labor policies and laws for employees to understand clearly such as regulations on signing labor contracts, terminating labor contracts, illegal termination of labor contracts, severance pay, and unemployment benefits.
In particular, policies for female employees such as not being allowed to fire female employees for reasons of marriage, pregnancy, or raising children under 12 months old; not being allowed to unilaterally terminate contracts with pregnant female employees, employees on maternity leave, or employees with children under 12 months old; ensuring adequate bathrooms and toilets at the workplace; consulting employees or their representatives when deciding on issues related to employees.
Workers and laborers receive reproductive health counseling
In addition, female employees were also advised on measures to prevent and combat infections, sexually transmitted diseases, the need for regular reproductive health check-ups, regular gynecological check-ups, etc. Ms. Duong Thi Kim Ngan - Employee of Sheen Bridge Company Limited, confided: “As a woman, I am very concerned about reproductive health issues. In particular, as I am about to get married, I am even more concerned and want to know about how to prevent and combat women's diseases, how to take care of myself during pregnancy, etc. to have good health. Thanks to the consultation, I have gained a lot of useful knowledge and understand the importance of regular health check-ups”. Through the propaganda activities, employees are equipped with knowledge about labor law and reproductive health, contributing to improving the quality of life.
Also in the Labor Month, the Provincial Labor Federation organized the 2025 Labor Safety and Hygiene Competition for workers to participate in to promote the work of ensuring labor safety and hygiene, environmental protection; fire and explosion prevention and control at agencies, units and enterprises. Thereby, helping workers raise awareness in implementing labor safety regulations and procedures, minimizing the risk of labor accidents and occupational diseases.

Through the contest, workers are informed about occupational safety and hygiene, especially the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene, decrees, circulars, related documents, etc., thereby increasing awareness and responsibility in the labor and production process, contributing to protecting the lives, health and property of workers and agencies, units and enterprises.
With the support of trade unions at all levels, the attention of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and employers, employees are motivated, assured, strive to work, promote innovative initiatives, and actively contribute to the development of enterprises and the province's socio-economic development./.
