Agree to allow prosecution and temporary detention of National Assembly delegate Le Thanh Van

On the afternoon of July 10, Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong issued press release No. 4062/TTKQH-TT regarding the National Assembly Standing Committee's agreement to prosecute, temporarily detain, search the residence and workplace of Mr. Le Thanh Van, and decide to temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy.

Accordingly, on July 10, 2027, based on the provisions of law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1090/NQ-UBTVQH15 agreeing to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Mr. Le Thanh Van, a member of the 15th National Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of law. At the same time, temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly representative for Mr. Le Thanh Van, a member of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.

Mr. Le Thanh Van (60 years old) is a National Assembly delegate of the 13th, 14th and 15th terms and is currently a standing member of the Finance and Budget Committee.
